To be fucked off with friends re Glastonbury Tickets

The last two years I have been lucky enough to get tickets in the main sale for myself and a few friends.

They all want to come again next year (ticket sale next week). Not one of them can be arsed with helping to get tickets. Ticket sale is “too early”, “I wouldn’t be any good at trying”, “oh I’ll just leave it up to you”. One of them has just text and asked if I can add her other mate to our group (so now I’m trying to 6 instead of 5.

Frankly I want to just say we didn’t get any tickets and just try for one myself. I’ve got no problem going alone and I’m sick of the whole thing falling on me. They’re happy to enjoy the festival but don’t want to do any of the actual work of getting there!

That was v frustrating, three of us trying on a gazillion devices and never left the holding page ( apart to crash a few times)

I'm usually good at the ticketing game, even got tickets for Super Saturday in 2012 but Glasto beat me!

I managed to get 6, over the moon! Sorry to those who missed out

Really, OP couldn't have added a sentence to say whether or not she got everyone tickets even though she knows that's what everyone is waiting to find out?

I've always volunteered before, but thought if im going to be away from my DS for a few nights I want it to be as just enjoying it rather than working (although id recommend it to anyone as it is enjoyable and a cheap way to go!). Congrats to everyone who got tickets, I was feeling gutted but to be honest it's £270 and a weeks annual leave towards the family holiday fund so meh, all good! Happy for everyone going though, enjoy the build up Use as many devices as you can, keep reclicking the link when it says server unavailable as it won't load from that point; if on the holding page refresh every 10 seconds or so (not too often or they'll kick you off). The booking page you get 5 minutes to enter details so have them handy, beyond that no idea as I got to that point several times and then it wouldn't load the payment page!

Twenty! That's mad! We got two groups on Thursday and one this morning, 4 groups missed out. Out worst success rate yet.

I organised the groups for 50. It is really stressful and annoying when people don't pull their weight. Especially when one of people who got a coach ticket immediately left the group. Bit of a fuck you to everyone else. (Rules are you keep trying for everyone)

Next year I might charge a couple of quid. Make people take it more seriously.

Yes, we’re strict in our group about trying for others after you manage to get yours. We were happy with 20, but have 3 groups to buy for in April, so that we can all be there! Haha, it’s madness isn’t it

Not a sniff, sadly. But agree with the etiquette that everyone wanting tickets must help try to get them - unless there are real extenuating circumstances (which doesn’t include the belief that 9 am on a Sunday morning is “too early”)
And for the people who are giving advice on here without actually having any knowledge of the subject:

• you have to be registered before sale day;
• if you are buying tickets for 6 people you have to enter 6 sets of details so obviously more time-consuming than just entering your own, when you are racing against time anyway;
• a ticket can only be used by the person it is registered to, you can’t “pass it on”.

Sat on the holding page for ages then got the all sold out message 😟 DS managed 6 his mate missed out and another friend got all the details in pressed confirm and it dropped him out 😭 but 6are going and they will try again when the resale happens

All the people saying how hard is it to get 6 tickets have obviously never tried to get Glastonbury tickets 😂
We had a group effort going this year, as many friends and family roped in to try and we still didn’t manage to get tickets. It’s not so simple as just adding an extra ticket to your basket

Put all our payment details in and got kicked out. So disappointed we have been going for years. Usually at least one group gets theirs. Ive looked at volunteering but im too scared of the toilets.

@PhillliPhillli has your group paid you for the deposits yet? I bought 6 tix and just 1 person has repaid me. I know it's only been a few days but I'll
be annoyed if I need to ask for the money - sent my bank details straight away on Sunday

I’d tell them money has to be in by the end of the day or you’re selling them and you WON’T be buying them next year.

Or are you going to say nothing and just post on here next year saying
