To be fucked off with friends re Glastonbury Tickets

The last two years I have been lucky enough to get tickets in the main sale for myself and a few friends.

They all want to come again next year (ticket sale next week). Not one of them can be arsed with helping to get tickets. Ticket sale is “too early”, “I wouldn’t be any good at trying”, “oh I’ll just leave it up to you”. One of them has just text and asked if I can add her other mate to our group (so now I’m trying to 6 instead of 5.

Frankly I want to just say we didn’t get any tickets and just try for one myself. I’ve got no problem going alone and I’m sick of the whole thing falling on me. They’re happy to enjoy the festival but don’t want to do any of the actual work of getting there!

I tried for coach tickets and didn't get anywhere! One of them has text me today and said whats the plan for Sunday, what do you need me to do and asked me to send all the info over so he is definitely getting one!

@SanFranBear, it might seem like a lot but don't forget that is for 5 nights camping, a festival the size of Colchester, and so many good bands/artists. I saw Lauryn Hill, Billie Ellish, Stormzy, Kylie, The Foals, Liam Gallagher and the streets this year just for starters. Spent hours in the healing fields listening to debates and protests, and enjoyed a 5 day party with 100000 people. Well worth £265!

They should be paying a % of your ticket, let alone their own in advance.

It’s paypal isn’t it, where you can set up a ‘money pool’? Other apps too. I’d give them a time/date by which they must deposit the full amount. Refund it if you’re unlucky. Add a small-but-significant booking fee that goes to your ticket price. Any decent person/friend would be more than appreciative enough to help you out.

do you have to have your own account on sell tickets? DS has asked me to try for him but not sure if I log in as him or me, all his mates are trying too. I have all their registration numbers

Every year I say I’ll try for tickets for next year but looks like I’ve missed it again! I used to pay about £40 for my Glastonbury ticket!

I have a friend who I go to gigs with. She’s very good at getting tickets. There have been times when we’ve both tried to get and other not such big events, I let her go ahead and get.
She is in a better position than me, usually not at work, no kids around and so can dedicate her time. If left to me I’d end up missing out due to wiping an arse or something (kids not work!)

YANBU to complain as it's hard, but if you've said you'll do it this year then you should do it. Next year you should just say you're doing it for yourself to give them fair warning.

They are just assuming and expecting but if you are going to buy just 1 then expect them to be annoyed and is it worth losing friends long term? Maybe you want to lose them? You could just say to a friend 'you do it please' then she will mess it up and no one goes. What do you prefer?

I grow up near glastonbury and cant think of anything worse. We given free tickets and i just throw them away (this 80s 90s not now as not there). Seriously why its so popular. Op sounds very complicated booking tickets just book yours if the others cant be bothered. Shocked how quick they go and how complicated it is. Hope you get one op x

I went in to Glastonbury over the fence once. No ticket required. Those were the days!

I definitely wouldn't buy for that friend of your friend. Guaranteed they are unlikely to pay the full amount yet still want the ticket. They can jog on.

Only get tickets for those that help, and make that clear to them.

How do you get a registration number before you buy tickets?

I think it's some sort of pre reg thing or maybe their account numbers so that tickets are issued in their names with photo ID, not sure really I just know his instruction is to add as many of the numbers and postcodes if I get in.

I had No idea it was that hard getting tickets.

Closed now for new registrations, Stealth. Needed to be done before end of September.

Quiet funny , Micheal used to just give us tickets for the event and we used to sell them as never wanted to go.
