Roxanne Pallet on Jeremy Vine

Aderyn19 · 13/09/2019 09:34

Is anyone watching this? She says she's sorry, has worked on her issues etc. The other panellists are taking the view that they will judge her as they find her and that enough time has eclipsed for her to be forgiven.
Aibu to think that it's not appropriate for her to be back on tv, having done what she did and that how Ryan Thomas feels should be the primary consideration.

Jeremy Vine has annoyed me with that statement. Defending the indefensible imo.

I do think though this became more personal than dealing with something you read in the press . You actually watched the impact on Ryan and how he was affected.

I think Bb handled it very badly but we live with what we saw

AmBeyondMyself · 13/09/2019 17:58

I may be dark and spiteful but I can't summon up an ounce of sympathy.

I am currently living that particular dream. My career prospects are shot to hell, I am the subject of gossip and mistrust and all because a colleague accused me of some absolutely awful things. The company did not investigate and merely took his word for it.

When I challenged him to provide proof, he started a campaign of bullying that broke me. No ruddy cameras caught any of that. I can't begin to tell you how wretched my life became trying to clear my name.

Saying sorry doesn't make it all better. Mud sticks. It is surprisingly difficult to convince people that your accuser is a malicious lying bastard when they act like they are one of god's most devoted little followers.

I don't wish people like that harm but I'm sure as hell not going to give them my forgiveness and send them of with my best wishes.

Am I bitter? Oh yes. Hugely so.

poopofprettycolours · 13/09/2019 17:59

I just wouldn't be able to trust her - dangerous fantasist.

MinisterforCheekyFuckery · 13/09/2019 18:44

I have no particular desire to watch her on TV either and I think that what she did was disgraceful..But I do find it interesting that there's such strength of feeling about this when so many men do much worse and continue to have very lucrative careers in the public eye. I wonder how many of the posters on here who are saying RP shouldn't be allowed on TV would refuse to watch a film featuring Mark Whalberg or Johnny Depp or Alec Baldwin? Were you all equally outraged when Mel Gibson was on Graham Norton not so long ago? It seems that male celebrities are forgiven much more easily than women. I'm seeing as much outrage online about RP being allowed on a panel show as I am about Geoffrey Boycott being given a knighthood which is a bit depressing.

x2boys · 13/09/2019 19:05

People are outraged because they saw it happening on T.V ,it's easier to be less outraged when you only hear about things

LindaLa · 13/09/2019 19:06

Just thought I'd throw in my Roxanne experience.

Good few years ago, I was working on a game show with an incredibly handsome researcher. Roxanne waltzes in and will only talk to him.
She's told she's in my care and is not happy (I looked after all guests).
Male researcher is very busy looking after everything else, she is annoyingly close to him at all times and he is very uncomfortable.

He asks her to see me for anything.
"But I want you"
I go over to her, pander to her and (fake) fawn over her.

She sees he has gone over other side of room and is putting his jacket on.
She shoots over and gets brushed by his jacket sleeve.

She then screamed. "He hurt me"
Everyone in that room told her to stop.

I both the male and i refused to work with her.

Her Rep said "she is delicate and needs special care"
She lost on the show.

Aderyn19 · 13/09/2019 19:27

I do agree that men get an easier ride. But that is part of the reason why women are so cross about RP - she's aided misogynists by being the liar they claim all women are. Which makes it harder for victims.
I won't have Chris Brown, R Kelly etc on in my house - their videos appear and the channel gets changed.

OP posts:
Aderyn19 · 13/09/2019 19:32

I'd like to ask Jeremy Vine if he would feel comfortable being alone in a room with RP.

Cheeseoncrumpets · 13/09/2019 20:08

I strongly feel that she should be locked up in a psychiatric unit somewhere. She's not just a bit unpleasant, she's very fucking dangerous and seemed to relish the opportunity to ruin someone's life.

Literally no one has a good word to say about her, and I think that's very telling.

She's an evil sociapathic bitch. I don't believe any of the 'woe is me' stories about all the terrible things that have happened to her either. I think its all lies.

Howlovely · 13/09/2019 20:22

Her every move is calculated and prepared. From the shy glances to the 'cute' shrugs, literally nothing is real. I do think she's placed too much hope in her acting abilities though as everyone can just see right through her. She's as fake as they come and pretends to be sorry and that little, broken Roxanne has done lots of soul searching, and has come back fighting (the frequent references to the Rocky films on JV this morning were especially cringe) blah, blah, bleurgh. She makes me want to be sick. She is dreadful and needs years of very intense therapy to leave planet Roxanne and rejoin planet earth. But even then I still wouldn't trust her.

Sagradafamiliar · 13/09/2019 20:59

Bloody hell linda that is chilling!

GabsAlot · 13/09/2019 21:34

Sounds just like her linda-glad you al stood up for him

Mrsjayy · 13/09/2019 22:17

Well I won't watch Mel gibson now and no I wouldnt watvh an interview with hiim. Thing with Roxanne people watched her set Ryan up it went from a toy fight to her saying a boy hit me she said boy like she was 15 years old!

Mrsjayy · 13/09/2019 22:17

Playfight not a toyfightBlush

HeckyPeck · 13/09/2019 22:40

Men always get away with worse things than women. I’m sadly not surprised though.

RosesAndRaindrops · 13/09/2019 22:50

YANBU - what she did in the BB house was awful, outright barefaced lies and smearing of a person. If the cameras hadn't have caught it could have been a whole different story. Apparently had previous form as well.
No, she shouldn't be back, don't know how anyone would work with her anyway as you just wouldn't be able to trust her when she could lie so convincingly and easily.

Kummerspeck · 13/09/2019 22:59

It's strange that Jeremy Vine was so forgiving with Roxanne Pallett this morning when he was far less so about Geoffrey Boycott earlier this week
Can't believe how much that show has sunk and dumbed down since he took it over

RosesAndRaindrops · 13/09/2019 23:01

I didn't watch CBB but I watched all the footage around this and all the reports and articles too

I watched it live, she was chilling and turning everyone against him as well as lying about him hitting her.
Bullying in action. How she could do that to another person was beyond me, still is.

Sn0tnose · 13/09/2019 23:03

When TV shows stop having guests on who have raped and beaten up women and everyone stops acting as if it has never happened, then I will give a shit about this. Until then no.

I partly agree with this. I do give a shit. I think she’s dangerous. I wouldn’t want any of my male friends or family to be within a 100 mile radius of her and she’s given fuel to the absolute dickheads who believe that every other woman makes these things up.

What I don’t understand is why there are not similar levels of outrage about the convicted rapists, paedophiles (although I believe he was issued with a police caution and ordered to sign the sex offender’s register rather than being convicted), domestic abusers still selling records and being issued with knighthoods, drunk drivers having successful tv careers etc, who are currently in the public eye and making money. I don’t see how she is any different from them or why you’d feel so outraged about her and not them.

Evilspiritgin · 13/09/2019 23:27

I think previous op is right, I actually think she has sociopathic tendencies,

I won’t watch her, Mel Gibson, ant mcpartland , it is interesting how some people are welcomed back, (see that fucking arse ant) yet Angus deayton’s career was absolutely ruined same as Michael Barrymore, Art Malik had someone die in his pool he wasn’t vilified

MissLadyM · 16/09/2019 00:39

Yes I agree about Angus Deyton. He was treated very unfairly

TheWernethWife · 16/09/2019 08:33

My son brought home a copy of The Sun yesterday (I've no idea why). Before I threw it in the bin, I had a quick glance through it, and there she was, RP posing in skimpy undies, yuck.

NumbersStation · 16/09/2019 11:13

Shame on you @TheWernethWife Smile

She’s just showing how sorry she is. Well, that and her drawers...

TurquoiseDress · 16/09/2019 17:01

I was never a big fan of Ant & Dent, but I was rather surprised by how easily Ant was welcomed back into his old job.

I know there is a "brand" to protect and their own show etc but it made me realise that in Ant's position, you can pretty much get away with anything

Wasn't he nominated and won at some television awards, he was there with Dec to collect it- kind of odd seeing as he hadn't worked on the show in maybe a year or so
