Roxanne Pallet on Jeremy Vine

Aderyn19 · 13/09/2019 09:34

Is anyone watching this? She says she's sorry, has worked on her issues etc. The other panellists are taking the view that they will judge her as they find her and that enough time has eclipsed for her to be forgiven.
Aibu to think that it's not appropriate for her to be back on tv, having done what she did and that how Ryan Thomas feels should be the primary consideration.

Vile woman.

ElizaDee · 13/09/2019 11:09

She should be made an example of and never work on TV again imo.

Span1elsRock · 13/09/2019 11:12

She's got serious issues.

I was Shock when she had that accident when she was stock car racing, and was airflifted to hospital "near to death" and was "lucky to escape with her life" ........ she had two sprained wrists Hmm wasting NHS resources like that is shameful behaviour.

She's a pathological liar and god help anyone stupid enough to employ her again.

LionKingLover · 13/09/2019 11:19

She won't have changed. She knows the right things to say. Watching RT at the time was heartbreaking x

friedeggsandbeans · 13/09/2019 11:35

birdsdestiny They all committed a crime, Roxanne, lied about an assault to get attention?

ImNotYourGranny · 13/09/2019 11:36

I saw her apologise a while back. The thing that really struck me was the dead eyes. She was saying the right words but her eyes were dead, not a glint of emotion in them. The upset that she did so was for herself and the effect her behaviour had had on her. But even that was engineered without a hint of real emotion. She's really scary.

Aderyn19 · 13/09/2019 11:39

birds that's a fair point. I suppose if someone is convicted of a crime and goes to prison, once they have served their time, they have a right to return to work. However some work will be off limits to them and the law allows this. A fraudster couldn't work in a bank for example. If you abused your position at work, you would be unlikely to get another job in that same business and I think that is fair.
I wouldn't work with RP - I wouldn't trust her. How do you verify that someone with a history of lying is 'better'?

OP posts:
WaggingKnife · 13/09/2019 11:42

I think the same programme had her on after the incident, did they not?

AgeLikeWine · 13/09/2019 11:46

Pallett is a traitor to her sex. Her actions have made it less likely that women who have been attacked and abused by men will be believed. ‘Doing a Roxanne’ has entered the language. She should not be given a platform.

MashedSpud · 13/09/2019 11:48

Leslie Grantham’s career was over when he sucked his finger and fiddled with his knob on cam. 🤮

This woman has been putting people in horrible situations for years. If I was an actor I wouldn’t want to work with her in fear of what lies she could concoct.

Aderyn19 · 13/09/2019 11:49

I think Mathew Wright had her on the show before this all happened. Iirc she was a very odd guest, refusing to answer questions etc.

OP posts:
jennymanara · 13/09/2019 11:51

When TV shows stop having guests on who have raped and beaten up women and everyone stops acting as if it has never happened, then I will give a shit about this. Until then no.

Pumperthepumper · 13/09/2019 11:53

birdsdestiny it’s because everyone is much faster at forgiving men than women. Roxanne is a misogynists dream - a woman who lied about an assault - so now they can talk forever about how common that is. She won’t ever be forgotten because she’s so useful to the cause.

Just so we’re clear, I wouldn’t forgive any of them. She did an awful, unforgivable thing, as did Ant. But Roxanne will keep being invited on tv because people love to hate a wrong woman, and love to forgive a wrong man.

Pumperthepumper · 13/09/2019 11:55

My phone deleted McPartland from that post, I’m not trying to pretend I’m on first name terms with him Blush

SierraHotelIndiaTangoHappens · 13/09/2019 11:55

She's got some fucking nerve trying to play up some sympathy again when we all know what kind of person she is.

TurquoiseDress · 13/09/2019 11:56

YANBU

I caught a few minutes this morning before I had to go to work and wondered what she was doing on there...book to promote or something?!

The other 2 women seemed to be praising her and very sympathetic. RP just seems a nasty piece of work, long before the BB incident

I remember Jeremy Vine had her on his show a year ago and went very easy on her

Aderyn19 · 13/09/2019 11:59

To be clear, if I was in charge of a TV channel, I'd not be inviting men who had behaved like this as guests either.
I've no time for all the Ant adoration - drink driving is a disgusting thing to do and I don't think it should be glossed over so that itv maintains it winning duo act.

OP posts:

YANBU

She is a dangerous and spiteful woman with some serious issues. She may have "gone away to work on them" however I've never seen her genuinely remorseful. Sad she got caught out yes, but that's it.

MouseInATelescope · 13/09/2019 12:03

Wasn't she abused in her past, and went through some terrible events that have deeply affected her?

I know that does not excuse appalling behaviour from her that is affecting others now - but I think she's probably had enough death threats about it now and realises how wrong it was.

It shouldn't mean that her life should be over and she doesn't deserve forgiveness. Attacking her and not forgiving her does no good to anybody at all. She needs help and support and a job away from the media.

Lvsel · 13/09/2019 12:04

Never knew about this I'm going to watch tonight on replay.
Her actions could have put someone in jail, Karen matthews isnt forgiven so why should she
Worse thing is at least Karen did it for money Roxanne had no reason to do that to Ryan besides cause trouble

I had a cousin who lied about being raped when i was there and nothing happened she tried to make me report to police on the lie, so I have seen how dangerous these women who lie about things are.

birdsdestiny · 13/09/2019 12:07

Well yes leslie Granthams career was over because of the webcam, but not because of murder. I can't quite work out if that was because we judge people more for webcam exploits than murder or because when he first got the job in eastenders social media didnt exist. I think there is an arguement about those people having served their time but it feels odd that we are ok with someone who assaulted a vulnerable young man (boy george) being on tv but not ok with someone who made a false accusation.

anothernamejeeves · 13/09/2019 12:14

She according to many who know her and have worked with her is a dangerous person. She needs proper help not given a platform

Aderyn19 · 13/09/2019 12:15

I think she should get all the help necessary to recover from any past trauma, both for her sake and that of any other person who comes into contact with her!
But she shouldn't ever be on TV again.

Once a person lies, it calls into question every other thing they've ever said. I wouldn't know whether to believe her about any claimed past assault.
Lying contributes towards guilty men getting away with their behaviour.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 13/09/2019 12:18

I think anyone even in a regular job would be reluctant to hire here. Not necessarily to carry on the punishment. I mean you can’t be punished forever, but She’s bloody dangerous, as pp says. If she can cause that much damage in the presence of cameras what would she do with out them. After all it was only the cameras that saved Rhys from being branded as a women beating beast and having his career ruined.

ChristmasBrisket · 13/09/2019 12:22

I have seen how dangerous these women who lie about things are Hmm

I'm the last person to make excuses for a liar but your statement is so bizarre that it almost comes across as sarcasm.
