Wanted to give them to ds2's school next week as it's his birthday. It's a nut free school so am i ok to bring in a celebrations box?

I would say no because of snickers. Heroes might be a better bet

cardibach · 12/09/2019 17:28

A quick google shows Snickers on the packaging, so no. Honestly. That would have been easy for you to find out yourself. It’s not a matter of opinion or needing advice...

ArabellaDoreenFig · 12/09/2019 17:30

It might be worth mentioning to staff that you are thinking of doing it - many schools don’t allow sweets/cake etc in on birthdays anymore. I know it seems unfair on the surface but there are so many issues with allergies/gelatine etc it’s just easier to have a blanket ban.

Ilikethisone · 12/09/2019 17:33

I wouldnt.

Twixandwater · 12/09/2019 17:34

Thank you, I didn't find a definitive answer cardi

Does Heros defiantly not contain nuts? Thanks

If it’s a nut free school and the celebrations have products with nuts in then you can’t.

GiveMeHope103 · 12/09/2019 17:34

I'm surprised that they would allow sweets.

PurpleDaisies · 12/09/2019 17:35

If it’s nut free, you’d be out of order to send nuts in. Is that a difficult question to answer? Confused

Sammi38 · 12/09/2019 17:35

Unless you take the nut ones out?

Twixandwater · 12/09/2019 17:35

*definitely

If it’s nut free, you’d be out of order to send nuts in. Confused Maybe I phrased it badly but i am asking if it's ok or not ok to bring them in as I didn't find any definitive answer when I googled it.

But I won't of course if there is a risk. Hmm

Tip for the future :

Go to google.
Type in “Cadbury’s heroes”.
Go to the first page that comes up.
Open up the nutritional information.

raspberrypancakes · 12/09/2019 17:39

We're a nut free site at work and heroes are the only big sharing box of chocolates we have.

dollydaydream114 · 12/09/2019 17:39

Does Heros defiantly not contain nuts

OP, all you need to do is read the label on the box. It will list the ingredients, and if it may contain nuts it will say so.

Or you can Google the info in seconds.

Heroes, by the way, do have a ‘May contain nuts’ warning on the label. I Googled ‘Cadbury’s heroes nuts’ and it was literally the first result that came up.

Twixandwater · 12/09/2019 17:42

raspberrypancakes thanks that's good to know.

PurpleDaisies knickers in a twsit twix?

OP posts:
PurpleDaisies · 12/09/2019 17:48

No. Knickers not in a twist. You could have googled yourself instead of posting asking for easily available factual information. I don’t understand why posters do that.

MintTpls · 12/09/2019 17:52

Hi, if you are on Facebook then I highly recommend you join the "nutfreeliving food guide" group.
They have a brilliant albums section of food brands/snacks which are nut free.
Don't forget to answer the joining questions.

Lots of schools don't want to be giving out sweets or even fruit these days. You don't say how old dS2 is but a better idea might be to send a copy of a favourite book to donate to the book corner or even share with the class.

Frogshoe · 12/09/2019 17:58

Heroes are not nut safe since they put double deckers in unfortunately.

PurpleDaisies · 12/09/2019 17:59

frog you’re wrong.

Look at the website.

PurpleDaisies · 12/09/2019 18:00

Although they might not be suitable if the school also bans products that “may contain nuts” (most don’t).

Chocolatemouse84 · 12/09/2019 18:01

My school request you only send the little haribo sweet packets on birthdays or a book for the class library

MintTpls · 12/09/2019 18:02

Haribo, swizzles, skittles are some of the nut free stuff that is sometimes given out.
I've seen malteaser teasers, smarties and matchmakers on the albums amongst others.
Thank you for caring to ask even if the info wasn't too clear for you initially. I'd rather that than you just sent it in without caring.

Fieldofgreycorn · 12/09/2019 18:03

Or some nice fruit?
