In school my son was shown a video of a man sexually attracted to balloons

Name changed for this as it could be pretty outing.

Apparently it was a YouTube video, and the idea of the class was to teach them about feelings?! WTAF. AIBU to think that there are a gazillion other more appropriate ways to teach 12 year old about feelings than watching a man get into bed with balloons and tell people it arouses him?

Obviously I don't know exactly what they watched but it all seems a bit weird to me. I did clarify that the teacher showed them this and he said yes. It was part of the class.

It just seems a bit odd

Is it this one?

I mean it's not explicit or anything, but.... Why the fuck would you pick this particular subject matter to teach kids about 'feelings'?! Confused

SnappedAndFarted18 · 09/09/2019 21:05

Lmao sorry OP this thread has had me proper laughing 🙈🤣 I did find the video on YouTube & just signed in to post it but property beat me to it 😄🤣

Balloontheory · 09/09/2019 21:06

I am trying not to make a big deal of it by asking lots of questions, so I'm not sure what video it was. It just seems weird to me that they discussed and watched this in class. Especially as the topic was feelings! There are a lot of feelings that could be discussed, what on earth would make them chose this.

Sorry - but that is so funny

Get to the bottom of it and let us know wtf it was all about

Sounds surreal

Balloontheory · 09/09/2019 21:18

@Propertyofhood it made me chuckle too. And I'm sure it did the kids, hence why I doubt they learned anything much about feelings from the lesson.

It's odd. I just don't think it's an obvious choice for teaching about feelings and I'd like to know the reason why it was picked.

Oh look, this rather fucking creepy fetishist agenda is in schools already. Nothing to see here, nothing at all, move along...

I'd have been absolutely furious. There is no reason whatsoever to teach children about fetishes, no matter how innocuous. I'd probably worry that the teacher is a pervert.

NoTheresa · 09/09/2019 21:20

All the puns - lol

busybarbara · 09/09/2019 21:22

You know. A lot of "standard" behaviours now like hairless genitals, anal or blow jobs were all once considered well outside the norm and a bit kinky once

NettleTea · 09/09/2019 21:25

and do you know the damage that is happening to young girls because of normalising anal?

Butchyrestingface · 09/09/2019 21:25

Unfortunately this thread has brought back long-suppressed memories of reading about a case where a woman discovered her husband fucking a frozen chicken. 🤢

At least the school hasn't introduced your son to that kind of fetish yet.

funnylittlefloozie · 09/09/2019 21:28

For a nasty moment, i thought poor little Balonz was back.... i didnt think he was old enough for that sort of thing.

newmummalion · 09/09/2019 21:31

@Lifecraft Paaahh!

BananasAreTheSourceOfEvil · 09/09/2019 21:31

That’s so weird it’s hilarious!!

Thankssomuch · 09/09/2019 21:32

Were they funny shaped balloons or just round?

Swellerellamoo · 09/09/2019 21:32

Id write to the school tbh OP. I'd say, you've let the class down, you've let the school down but most of all you've let yourself down

Thankssomuch · 09/09/2019 21:35

If they were tied together in bunches to look like male genitalia, it would make more sense.

youarenotkiddingme · 09/09/2019 21:37

But did they let the balloons down Wink

EffYouSeeKaye · 09/09/2019 21:40

Could it not have been an instructional video on condom use and he has got the wrong end of the stick (no pun Grin) ?

Mummyoflittledragon · 09/09/2019 21:53

Omg if this is true it’s bonkers and totally inappropriate.

Here he is

TinklyLittleLaugh · 09/09/2019 21:56

Anal is pretty weird though to anyone over 50. Just why?

TheBigBallOfOil · 09/09/2019 21:59

Anal sex carries greater risk of HIV transmission, as well as trauma and damage. If you want to risk this, your business, but don’t push it on the rest of the world, especially not kids, as normal.

ReanimatedSGB · 09/09/2019 22:04

Another vote for it turning out to be a video about condoms and the kid having got the wrong end of the balloon knot stick...
