AIBU to be fuming?!

What an absolute pile of crap. By definition according to this, I'm 'queer gender.' Sex is binary, the rest is just your personality and personal preferences.

Makes a mockery of homosexual rights.

Who on earth made the bbc the expert on this?! Queer theory is just theory, it's hard enough for adults to understand let alone kids!

YANBU. I won't let my kids watch CBBC anymore, as they are constantly pushing trans propaganda down kids throats. It's relentless at the moment. It is an ideology, and one that is harmful, sexist, regressive and deeply confusing for children. Everyone should check what their school are teaching their kids too. Thank goodness for Safe Schools Alliance.

Rollercoasteryears · 09/09/2019 07:13

YANBU. Absolute confusing, regressive tosh dressed up as educational and progressive. Get it TF away from children.

OhHolyJesus · 09/09/2019 07:28

The BBC used to get tax from the foreign office for part of its overseas operations, but the license fee is used for UK based business I understand. For me the business model is outdated by miles and they need a massive overhaul and restructure.

We could complain even masse or support a complaint that has already been submitted?

Drogosnextwife · 09/09/2019 07:46

IdiotInDisguise

There is one still running at the moment.

Ereshkigal · 09/09/2019 08:52

The BBC complaints framework is designed to make you lose the will to live. Nevertheless it's worth doing and it's worth sticking with, for anyone who has the energy. We need to get this in front of OFCOM.

This.

Butchyrestingface · 09/09/2019 08:58

100 fucking genders. Bring back national draft, say I. Those BBC employees can get conscripted first.

🔫 🔫🔫

StealthChocolateHoarder · 09/09/2019 10:22

OFCOM definitely.

I haven't had time to read it but a search couldn't even find the word gender or genders in the RSE curriculum - is this the right one???

https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachmentdata/file/805781/RelationshipssEducationRelationshipssandSexxEducationRSEanddHealth_Education.pdf

So why the hell are the BBC peddling this imaginary crap?

I think this is the issue;

37. Schools should ensure that all of their teaching is sensitive and age appropriate in approach and content. At the point at which schools consider it appropriate to teach their pupils about LGBT, they should ensure that this content is fully integrated into their programmes of study for this area of the curriculum rather than delivered as a stand- alone unit or lesson. Schools are free to determine how they do this, and we expect all pupils to have been taught LGBT content at a timely point as part of this area of the curriculum.

Schools are free to determine how they do this

What? What exactly are they to teach???

OP posts:
CaveMum · 09/09/2019 10:35

@StealthChocolateHoarder this is exactly the problem. Schools are being given no firm guidance by DofE and left to their own devices which is why people like Stonewall, Allsorts, GI, etc have been able to infiltrate schools and set themselves up as “experts” in this area.

CaveMum · 09/09/2019 11:07

Apparently there is also a video aimed at KS4 which has a “sexologist” telling 14 year olds that watching porn is not harmful as long as they remember it’s fantasy.

What about the fact that it’s illegal to watch porn under 18 and that the industry IS harmful and exploitative?!

StealthChocolateHoarder · 09/09/2019 11:15

Jesus, really? Shock

I have been writing to my MP from time to time for the last 3 or 4 years on the subject of trans rights etc. He has studiously ignored me, until last week, when I got an anodyne reply from him - but he did at least admit that science and facts matter.

At least write (email) your MP about this, and do so regularly. It is v important that your voice is heard by the idiots people who will be making the relevant laws.

Note, it is not law yet.

viaLatvia · 09/09/2019 12:14

YANBU and we are forced to fund this shit! Angry. Scrap the Licence fee now!

CaptainKirksSpookyghost · 09/09/2019 12:53

Get kids interested in sex younger and younger, now what group of people would want that?

donotcovertheradiator · 09/09/2019 13:12

There is male, there is female. Both these sexes can have varied sexual orientations.

You cannot want to be the opposite sex because, by necessity, no man knows what it feels like to be a woman and no woman knows what it feels like to be a man.

You can imagine what it might like feel like to be the opposite sex but that is imagination, not reality. You might as well want to be a horse. Only horses know what it is like to be a horse.

The BBC are ill educated gobshites.

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 09/09/2019 13:16

The BBC is quite a neat these days isn’t it? Auntie/Uncle would not be amused...

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 09/09/2019 13:17

Nest not neat...

donotcovertheradiator · 09/09/2019 13:20

Yes, they are! Blowing any which way as long as it is 'woke'.

I would like to awake them by withdrawing all public monies and inviting them to become a subscription channel.

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 09/09/2019 13:22

That wouldn’t go well for them.

Qcng · 09/09/2019 13:23

It's seriously disturbing.
So, so, wrong.

TRAs have infiltrated so many previously trustworthy institutions, they have now lost all credibility and have becom basically completely untrustworthy.

I can barely click on any article or program they produce abymore bc I expect them to sneak in their propaganda and I'll be upset by it.

Sexnotgender · 09/09/2019 13:26

YANBU. What a giant steaming pile of shit.

HarryYerAWizard · 09/09/2019 13:30

They want to teach kids that they can choose from over 100 genders?

The same kids who choose what they want from dinner and then when it’s cooked want something else? Who write a birthday list then change it the day before? Seems sensible.

Also... 100 genders? Seriously Hmm

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 09/09/2019 13:35

Surely genders are highly individual anyway? A million genders - then what?

Ereshkigal · 09/09/2019 17:53

Precisely.
