..when the GE hits unless there’s a singing of the same song sheet effort we could actually end up with Farage getting in!

I don’t know the grown up linky method!

Yes I will definitely be voting tactically. Mine is a pretty safe Tory seat so I hope the remain parties only put up one candidate between them so as not to split the vote

Agree we need to get rid of FTTP and Parliament needs to move to working more collaberatively

GirlsBlouse17 · 08/09/2019 20:02

Lib dems for me

Thereblegeopart · 08/09/2019 20:06

If all of the left to centrist electorate voted for the opposition, regardless of not liking Corbyn, a Tory/Brexit coalition would not get in.

I don't think it's most likely a Tory/Brexit alliance would win a GE, regardless of what the polls say. The outcomes of the last GE surprised everyone.

I will vote Labour, despite not having 100% confidence in Corbyn. Right now he's our best bet in avoiding a far right government.

monkeytennis97 · 08/09/2019 20:07

I will be voting tactically hopefully others in my safe Tory seat will too

Snowy111 · 08/09/2019 20:13

I think a BJ and farage combo appeals to many many people and they have a good chance
Of victory without tactical voting ( I absolutely do not understand why, it’s beyond me why anyone could possibly think no deal Brexit is going to benefit them or the country. KamikazeSad)

Bugsymalonemumof2 · 08/09/2019 23:24

I'm in one of the safest Tory seats. Will vote tactically but it will be futile

Sunshine93 · 08/09/2019 23:34

Anyone who votes for the brexit party is a moron, imagine if they get in, we leave the EU and then have 5years of them running the country?

It's a risk where I live because my MP is one of the 21 and we have been Tory since the 30s so if they don't replace him with the right person and brexit party jump on that who knows! So tactically in my area I might have to vote conservative to prevent the brexit party. I don't think I could do it. I am a member of labour so it would feel like a really massive betrayal Sad

Sunshine93 · 08/09/2019 23:38

56Jillyhilly because no deal brexit would mean medication shortages and price hikes in essentials which will probably lead to deaths and increases in foodbank use, poverty and homelessness all as we approach Christmas she assumes (wrongly) that most people have the common sense to want to avoid that.

Nottrueatall · 08/09/2019 23:40

I'll be voting tactically to keep that odious Corbyn out.

Ariadnepersephonecloud · 08/09/2019 23:43

I will vote Lib Dem but am in a Tory strong hold so doubt it will make much difference. I usually vote Labour but Lib Dem have ainiscule chance here...

EnthusiasmIsDisturbed · 08/09/2019 23:49

It’s strange 5 years ago I would have said thank god we don’t have UKIP (apart from 1 seat) or Farage in the HOP

Maybe if they were we never would have had a referendum and they would just be back seat annoyances

Not voting tactically. Labour area won’t vote labour while momentum are running the party

LittleAndOften · 08/09/2019 23:55

I live in a true blue tory area so my vote has never counted for much, which is frustrating. However, during the recent local elections there was a huge swing towards lib dem, and they now control the council which gives me hope. I just pray that the lib dems bother to campaign here, as all I ever see during election time are giant tory posters everywhere.

SilverySurfer · 08/09/2019 23:57

No. I will be voting for the Conservatives. There's not a chance in hell I will vote for the economically illiterate party with a rubbish leader - Labour, or the one policy party - LibDims, or the party with bonkers policies - Greens.

Snowy111 · 09/09/2019 07:16

Interesting to read this. People’s motivations are so differing, the only way the remain parties are going to have a chance is to not stand against each other in individual constituencies, because so many people aren’t seeing this as a remain/leave vote, and aren’t willing to vote tactically to stop a no deal Brexit ( which is what we’ll get if Johnson/Farage coalition).

ThePurpledinosaur · 09/09/2019 07:25

Lib dem won't get in where I live. The current is an independent ex lab so the vote may be split enough to let the Tory in.

MaxNormal · 09/09/2019 07:30

I find it fascinating that people are still concerned about Labour's handling of the economy giving what's currently happening, and the fact that business has indicated they would far rather Corbyn than Johnson.
I will definitely vote tactically to try and keep this country from becoming a hard Brexit, hard right economic and social disaster.

mysteryfairy · 09/09/2019 07:31

I’ll be voting tactically which infuriatingly means voting labour even though they have been utterly useless over the last three years. I generally don’t have a problem with Corbyn’s policies except over the EU and find it unbelievable how many people have fallen for the press and Tory party demonisation which has constituted an almost inconceivable assault on the leader of the opposition. However given where we are I wish he would step aside or suffer some minor misfortune so that we could have a new electable leader for the Labour Party.

BunchMunch · 09/09/2019 07:32

Yes along ABC lines (anyone but Corbyn.)
I don't want Mcdonnell in charge of the purse strings thank you very much. Or Diane Abbott as Home Sec.

LibDems - no thanks.

Conservative it is then.

AngelicInnocent · 09/09/2019 07:33

I live in a Labour stronghold with one of the highest leave votes in the country. Brexit party is going to get in here from everything I've seen.

ethelfleda · 09/09/2019 07:33

Yes absolutely.

drankthekoolaid · 09/09/2019 07:37

I live in a massive Tory stronghold. I feel my vote is utterly pointless. I do still vote but I might as well vote for the moon.

It's very frustrating especially as all our councillors are green because as a town we are a bunch of hippies- but the wider constituency is vast and 98% rural.

Ergo we have the delight that is Harriett 'anything you say Boris' Baldwin. Horrid woman.

MerryChristmasHarry · 09/09/2019 08:12

Yes, I'll be voting for the Remain candidate most likely to get elected in my area. It's possible that person won't be the one I would otherwise choose, so I'm calling that a somewhat tactical vote.

This is why I don't think the polls are especially reliable at the moment, because so many people are going to vote tactically, against something/someone rather than for. They do tell us that Johnson has hoovered up a lot of support from the Brexit party, but at this point we don't know if they'll stand and we don't know how far the Remain Alliance will extend. It also looks like there might be more electoral pacts than usual across the board.

Bluntness100 · 09/09/2019 08:17

No, I will vote with whose politics I agree with the most.

I've usually voted Tory but I'm not sure now, I'm actually worried following amber Rudd's resignation the fact she wrote that boris's intention is to take the country out with no deal.

As much as this is now illegal, and highly doubtful he could achieve it, irrelevant of the noise coming out of France they will give an extension and likely longer than the three months, either six to a year.

The fact it might be his intention though isn't something I can sanction. So am currently politically homeless.

Doilooklikeatourist · 09/09/2019 08:20

It will be Labour or Plaid Cymru here.
I’m not prepared to vote for either of them , so I’ll see who has the most interesting name., and vote for her/ him
That’s my version of tactical voting👍

Gingernaut · 09/09/2019 08:24

I live in an overwhelmingly Labour constituency.

The MP is a Remainer and has been roundly abused by his constituents who voted Leave.

Even though they disagree with his politics, they will carry on voting Labour and sending death threats to him....Confused
