Is anyone watching this? Caroline Lucas has torn into him. 😵😵😵

This tweet [not by Caroline Lucas] gave me a laugh:

“Shoutout to the 28,992 absolute yokels in north east Somerset who voted for Jacob Rees Mogg and inflicted this effete pipe cleaner on the rest of us, when better options were available, such as blasting your own flesh off with a Karcher pressure washer. Or the Labour candidate.”

This tweet [not by Caroline Lucas] gave me a laugh:

Can somebody explain to me how anybody could interpret this sentence as suggesting that Caroline Lucas wrote the tweet being referred to?

Surely if you just read the Op, you will see it clearly states that the tweet was not written by Caroline Lucas

You can see them here. I still think he looked like he was napping.

Labour’s Anna Turley MP described him as looking like ‘the physical embodiment of arrogance, entitlement, disrespect and contempt for our parliament.’

I do not care for JRM, but the tweet she put out there with the above caption was classist bullying. It was unprofessional and childish of an MP to stoop to bullying another MP.

You can see from the photo that it was a lull in proceedings and that JRM was obviously very tired. For all we know he has a medical condition.

I expect better from MPs than to engage in such playground antics.

Alsohuman · 04/09/2019 23:19

Childish of an MP to bully another MP - that’s bloody rich the day after Johnson kicked 21 of his colleagues out of their party.

CrapTVAddict · 04/09/2019 23:37

For all we know he could have a medical condition

Thought it was common knowledge he has no soul Smile

Cattenberg · 04/09/2019 23:55

Whatever his reasons, this isn’t the first time.

Hes heading towards a very bad end. Hes far too ambitious and self serving for somebody who is so easily unmasked as a fraud. His bad latin, his hilariously crappy book and the terrible witing inside it. There should be laws against his side interests. And yes, studies have shown some people will still pathetically automatically defer to toffs. A long time ago I managed to upset him by calling him new money.

domton · 05/09/2019 00:07

He was lounging like that, with his ears **away from the speakers to hear better?

serenoa · 05/09/2019 00:33

Can I remind those who didn't read the post properly, that message WAS NOT from Caroline Lucas.

I worked on a project with JRM's father. Although he was mad as a box of frogs politically, personally he was an extremely nice person when he was with us. JRM got the box of frogs genes, not the nice person ones. Combined with that appalling Eton education, JRM is a hopeless case, a misogynist to his toes and rude to everyone who doesn't agree with him.

The Labour Party has an election poster written for it, that image is going to run and run.

Butchyrestingface · 05/09/2019 04:39

My friend did say this about the loudspeakers. As a PP noted, his head is positioned away from them. Regardless, loafing across three seats during such an important (televised) parliamentary debate, eyes shut, is not a good look for anyone, far less the leader of the house.

The fact that JRM is such a colossal fanny means he’s even less likely to be given the benefit of the doubt than most parliamentarians.

Tonnerre · 05/09/2019 08:47

JRM is laying like this precisely so he can hear and pay attention to the orator, not to show contempt.

Nope, head not near the loudspeakers and every other MP manages to listen without lounging across three seats.

You can see from the photo that it was a lull in proceedings and that JRM was obviously very tired.

The House of Commons is a big building. There are plenty of places MPs can go to if they're tired without demonstrating disrespect in this manner. If he was that tired, there wouldn't have been much point him being in the Chamber at all as he wouldn't be able to concentrate or contribute usefully. I'm quite sure that if he had a medical condition we would have heard all about it by now.

Tonnerre · 05/09/2019 08:53

The YouTube video linked in this article is hilarious.

Nobody said the tweet was by Caroline Lucas, it was posted after she called Rees Mogg out in the Commons. Unfortunately all the versions of the picture doing the rounds are probably delighting him.

NoTheresa · 05/09/2019 12:47

Trying to defend Mogg for his reclining pose is pointless. He was being an oaf and got carried away by his own ludicrous and arrogant vanity. The man is a joke.

NoTheresa · 05/09/2019 12:49

Btw, we do not need reminding re. Caroline Lucas. She would not use intemperate descriptions of that sort. I can imagine Mogg might, though. It goes with the territory.

roundturnandtwohalfhitches · 05/09/2019 12:59

He has, as they say in Ireland, lost the run of himself.

And I do blame the people who vote these lunatics in. Trump, Johnson, JRM and their ilk. Narcissists and sociopaths and careerists will always exist but they wouldn't get anywhere if people didn't support them.

cannycat20 · 05/09/2019 13:13

Isn't there a character in The Beano who looks remarkably similar? Just saying....

BrittleJoys · 05/09/2019 13:50

He has, as they say in Ireland, lost the run of himself.

And he has notions. Grin

Tonnerre · 05/09/2019 13:52

I must say, the trio of Johnson, Rees-Mogg and Gove seem to me to reach new depths of dishonesty and self-interest. How on earth did we ever come to have them in power?

JRM is good at doing the rounds locally. Fetes, church, that sort of thing.

(I am not remotely a fan by the way but have witnessed it, from a safe distance).

Emmapeeler · 05/09/2019 21:42

My parents are his constituents but didn’t vote for him but get so frustrated by their peers who did and fell for the “English eccentric “ act. He is out for himself.

Ditto MrsT. I have definitely witnessed this (and my parents’ polite contempt Grin)
