To ask for payback ideas

Justdessertsforyou · 03/09/2019 20:10

A ‘colleague’ at work went behind my back around a planned project and took all of the credit for 6 months worth of work I had done.
They are the kind of individual known for this and is disliked throughout the office due to their superiority complex and constant ego.
If anyone tries to raise concerns with those boss they claim bullying (absolutely not true, they just don’t like being challenged)

I know AIBU for asking for help but I need payback ideas, the pettier the better. E.g little things to inconvenience or annoy them. Nothing criminal but open to any suggestion Grin

Buy 'Say No to Bullying' mugs for everyone in the office except him. Make sure everyone takes them to meetings and leave them prominently displayed on desks.

TixieLix · 03/09/2019 20:51

Sign their email up to loads of sites that spam you, such as Wowcher and watch them get annoyed at all the spam advertising mail that they receive every day.

Sorrysorrysosorry · 03/09/2019 20:56

my final petty act was to fart in the envelope before sealing it and handing it to her.

OMG! I mean that’s hysterical and, now I know the idea it’s something I could use in the future, Grin but WTH?? How do you even think of doing that?!

cacklingmags · 03/09/2019 21:03

Nits.

thebakerwithboobs · 03/09/2019 21:05

I'm with #SummerWhisper Is there a reason you can't just call him out? Surely if it's your work and your project it should be straight forward to prove?

JustTwoMoreSecs · 03/09/2019 21:07

Spill a drink on his chair before he gets in in the morning

DawsonsSheep · 03/09/2019 21:08

Second vote for anonymous glitter bomb! Always wanted to send one but wouldn’t be there to see it being opened by any of the deserving candidates! Try here: www.glitterretribution.co.uk/

Whatever you do please report back Smile

GreenTulips · 03/09/2019 21:11

I hope you’re going to give these posters credit for their ideas!

‘Oh that wasn’t my idea to fart in your envelope .....’

Bracknellite · 03/09/2019 21:24

Piss on his chair

catmum2019 · 03/09/2019 21:25

Pharlapwasthebest · 03/09/2019 21:29

@amusedbush
You are my hero.
Couldn’t tell dh, I was laughing so much

HotChocolateLover · 03/09/2019 21:31

Along the lines of farting in an envelope I once wiped some important paperwork all over my arse and minge. Had a right laugh watching the recipient open that. Also spat in my colleague’s milk when we shared an office but she did call me a ‘fucking bitch’

Office life innit 😂

HotChocolateLover · 03/09/2019 21:34

I have a confession. I once threw Moira’s hole punch in the bin. It even had her name written on it. God that woman was a cow. She was asking for it for weeks and I kept sniggering to myself.

Needbettername · 03/09/2019 21:38

Call backs! Lot of companies desperate for your business will call you (him) back if you enter details online. Jist Google call back and loads come up. Boring ones like bank and breakdown services and a few STI screening places do it too. One offered a "good to know" package. It was £500. Signed up unsuspecting colleague who took call in open plan office and kept asking yes but good to know what??

SamBeckett · 03/09/2019 21:39

Once it gets a bit cooler /wetter save up all the paper dots that come out of a hole punch and put them in his hood .

Needbettername · 03/09/2019 21:40

Years ago an annoying colleague got into a very popular book series very late when the films of books were popular. No-one was allowed to discuss in her presence. I happened across her book one day so ripped the last few pages out.

lifecouldbeadream · 03/09/2019 21:47

I think you need the things you do to annoy your DP thread. All low level innocuous stuff, but highly satisfying.

If you’ve known them long enough, you’ll know what gets their goat.....

Kittykat93 · 03/09/2019 21:54

The fart in the envelope got me laughing like mutley over here Grin

amusedbush · 03/09/2019 22:03

How do you even think of doing that?!

It was the only gross thing I could do to defile the letter that wasn’t visible Grin

I smiled sweetly as I handed it over and she thanked me as she opened it. You are WELCOME Grin

TrainspottingWelsh · 03/09/2019 22:07

Hilarious as it is can’t you raise the fact him giving you grief and then crying wolf is a form of bullying? As in report the fact he’s threatening fake bullying claims if you take credit for your own work, along with a list of other occasions he’s done similar.

If he’s in a private office, wipe some cat or dog food round discreetly and wait for the maggots to start crawling.

Years ago I signed an ex boss up to receive large quantities of correspondence from businesses offering penis extensions, help with erectile dysfunction and debt relief. By post to his house. And a similar selection for his equally vile wife on liposuction, vagina uplifts and various forms of credit she might want to apply for. Obviously they both managed to jump to the wrong conclusion and still weren’t speaking to each other when I’d finished working my notice.

ILiveInSalemsLot · 03/09/2019 22:10

You should explain to your manager that the work was actually yours.

I had to do that when I decided to change a data collection method to a more speedier one using macros, in my own time. I spent lunchtimes on it and when a temp asked me if I had anything they could help me with as they were free, I asked them to help with the data list.
I then overheard her talk to a manager about how she’d done the the whole thing. I was not pleased.

Likethebattle · 03/09/2019 22:11

Look at the Filthy Sentiments website and send hima pen saying ‘ I take it up the bum’

LonginesPrime · 03/09/2019 22:15

Once it gets a bit cooler /wetter save up all the paper dots that come out of a hole punch and put them in his hood

I'm now wondering if I can change jobs in the hope of finding a horrible colleague I can do this to...
