For dinner. With as little prep as possible. What do you pick?

If I must have an aibu, it's aibu to ask you to inspire me, I don't fancy anything in particular.

A bit of rib-eye steak, a tomato and a large potato. And if I don't have them already, some butter and salt.

Fried steak, fried tomato and a baked potato is something I very rarely afford, but if I am getting whatever I want and not having to pay for it, that's what I want!

Missingstreetlife · 28/08/2019 18:45

Cold chicken, salad, potato salad or couscous

UnicornMadeOfPinkGlitter · 28/08/2019 18:46

Charlie Bingham meal. Bung it in the oven serve with salad or bread.
The macaroni cheese is nice as is the tikka masala.

Jsmith99 · 28/08/2019 18:46

Waitrose curry meal deal with pakoras & naan. Weissbier to drink, seasonal English plums for pudding.

Amyheadache · 28/08/2019 18:48

May as well bookmark this thread as of today I have no kitchen for 8 weeks.
I’ve got a microwave risotto and toast 🤷🏻‍♀️

ElizaDee · 28/08/2019 18:49

Askingquestions if we are going all out and prepped and cooked by someone else, I'd have leg of lamb, roast potatoes, peas, sweetcorn & yorkies. And proper gravy.

I'd have a pizza express pizza and a bottle of wine. Or maybe a bag of doritos and dip. Or one of those mezze platters with a nice piece of bread and some dipping oil. Or even a tub of M and S egg mayo, a crusty cob or ciabatta and a bag of kettle crisps.

Liverbird77 · 28/08/2019 18:53

Tuna pâté and a fresh, crusty baguette.
Dry white wine, ice cold.

ElizaDee · 28/08/2019 18:55

I had a tuna mayo and sweetcorn toast sandwich for dinner yesterday.

It wasn't a toasted tuna sandwich because it was just tuna filling in toast, not toasted in a sandwich toaster or frying pan.

Tiger bread and cream cheese.

Pixel99 · 28/08/2019 18:56

I was going to say something practical like a nice throw.
But since you want food, my DF also loves Charlie Bingham - the fish pie or Macoroni Cheese

chillychicken · 28/08/2019 18:56

Pizza and M&S fresh chips.

Or cold meats selection, pot of olives, crisps, dips, anchovies, breadsticks.

Cominground · 28/08/2019 18:57

Macaroni cheese a d salad 🤤

milienhaus · 28/08/2019 19:00

Hot cross buns and butter

Kateshairenvy · 28/08/2019 19:00

We call them wallies too - yum

ElizaDee · 28/08/2019 19:01

I've never tried those Charlie Bingham meals. £6+ for a ready meal seems a bit pricy. I can probably cook it myself for less than £12. I know the point is not cooking it yourself though.

But I do buy m&s ready meals and meal deals Confused

Salmon en croute. Love the fish and pastry!

Sparklingbrook · 28/08/2019 19:15

Charlie Bighams are worth the money IMO. The 2 portion ones are just right. No leftovers and no pots to wash.

Disfordarkchocolate · 28/08/2019 19:19

M & S crispy beef and egg fried rice, and some ice cream. I may have some in late January after a wedding I'm going to that I don't want to look lumpy for.

AwkwardSquad · 28/08/2019 19:20

Charlie Bingham fish pie and Birds Eye frozen peas. Easy peasy.

AwkwardSquad · 28/08/2019 19:21

Or supermarket own brand fish pie. The M&S ones are very nice, much nicer than the CB ones.

gotmychocolateimgood · 28/08/2019 19:21

I buy the CB meals occasionally when they're on offer. We very rarely have takeaways and they actually taste homemade. See also: Cook meals.

Boots20 · 28/08/2019 19:38

I've just served this, literally NO cooking & all from tesco lol had no time to cook & it was a hit
