They are blue. Most eyes have flecks of some sort in them.

But what is the long-running dispute?

MamaOomMowWow · 28/08/2019 13:25

Blue-ish

WhoArtinHeaven · 28/08/2019 13:28

But what is the long-running dispute?

DH insists they're green.
I say they are blue. Not beautiful clear blue like his (and my children's) eyes, but they're still blue IMO.

Or maybe based on this topic thread they are neither one thing or another. Grin

Top one green, bottom one greeny-blue.

dollydaydream114 · 28/08/2019 13:35

I'd describe them as grey but you've got some green flecks in there.

Regardless of what you call it, it's a lovely colour, you're quite lucky!

skybluee · 28/08/2019 13:35

grey

zzzzzzzz12345 · 28/08/2019 13:36

Greeny blue.

ThinkGlow · 28/08/2019 13:37

They're similar to my DHs colour, I vote grey!

HauntedPinecone · 28/08/2019 13:44

See they look green to me.

WhoArtinHeaven · 28/08/2019 14:01

Well you lot are no help! Grin

I have eyes that have no one colour. People tell me they're blue, green or grey depending on the light, my mood and any other thing that might change them. It's funny when you get those "eye colour" questions because all I can put is "who knows". Both DC have my exact eye colour but because of their white blonde colouring they look brilliant blue and always elicit comments.

starsparkle08 · 28/08/2019 14:14

Blue

I'd say green from the pics.

BUT one of my DCs, and his Dad : my XDP have eyes that are sometimes blue, sometimes green and sometimes grey. The kid's are brighter / bluer than the dad. They often change to reflect what colour t-shirts they wear.

XDP has a Welsh surname which links with my theory about this eye colour, as I believe there is a word in welsh for a blue / green / grey colour.

Also reminds me of this song of course.

They’re not green they’re blue!

LaMarschallin · 28/08/2019 14:35

Eyes range, as far as I know (perhaps not very far) from very light blue (no extra pigmentation) to very dark brown (a lot of pigmentation).

Those look like blue with flecks of pigmentation which make them look greenish blue (to my eye and notwithstanding slight discrepancies as it's a photograph not real life).

I presume the choices are blue, green or grey. I yearned for the green eyes a work colleague had and then found they were coloured contact lenses.

The eyes in this photo look nice so that's the main thing Smile

LaMarschallin · 28/08/2019 14:43

Sorry. I meant to add that eyes are basically blue (with or without some pigment) or brown (light to dark depending on amount of pigment).

Anything else is just poetic or descriptive.

Knowing that didn't stop me wanting "green" eyes though.

And, despite what a PP said, they're not red
That just happens in people with no pigment. Like those with albinism.

Celendine · 28/08/2019 14:59

Do you find they look different depending on light or colour of clothing? Mine are similar and I just say grey blue

Crowdo · 28/08/2019 15:05

With eyes that colour, they will change due to pupil dilation and light conditions. So they're green at times sounds entirely plausible.

steff13 · 28/08/2019 15:10

I'd call them blue.

FairyDust92 · 28/08/2019 15:11

Blue

HowlsMovingBungalow · 28/08/2019 15:19

Blue with Central Heterochromica eyes. I have a pair the same.

LaMarschallin · 28/08/2019 19:27

So the consensus seems blue.

Tell DH he's wrong.

Ooh no! Make a bet with him (talking folding money here) first as to what MN reckon.

Then tell him he's wrong.

(Gosh I'm evil)

suckerforbrowneyes · 28/08/2019 19:34

The brown round the iris is called heterochromia iridium

Queenioqueenio · 28/08/2019 19:35

Blue / Grey. Definitely not green though.
