Sales assistant flirting with OH?

Mamaty · 26/08/2019 17:20

Ok so I’m pregnant and with my two kids and OH.

See some eye contact going on with OH and sales assistant .

Give her a stare .. yes she is about half our age and pretty ( weren’t we all at that age )

I’m watching his interaction with her and he doesn’t seem to be driving things .

As we leave I’m watching her in a mirror ( with my back to her )

She’s still watching us as we leave ... he has his back to her now ...

So I turn around and look at her full on ... and she flashes a smile and looks away .

WTF was she still looking at ?

AIBU to feel pissed off with this young lady ...

Probably just hormonal right?

Eh, are you ok op??

Fraggling · 26/08/2019 17:48

Meh

I'd tell dh and laugh at his bemusement 😊 it's flattering and funny! She's just some random woman, no threat. He didn't even notice by sound of it!

Hormonal. Don't worry about it.

dollydaydream114 · 26/08/2019 17:49

I strongly doubt some pretty young sales assistant fancies your husband, a man twice her age slogging round the shops with a load of kids in tow. Trust me, if she’s as young and pretty as you say she’ll have better options.

You’re being utterly absurd.

ChicCroissant · 26/08/2019 17:54

You expect sales assistants to make no eye contact at all with your DH?

This all seems well beyond even hormonal paranoia.

scotwood · 26/08/2019 17:55

I’ll go and have a little cry about my paranoid pathetic existence

Or you could stop being ridiculous.

PotholePalace · 26/08/2019 17:55

Mamaty, pictures of your dh so we can judge? Wink

It was a probably a sales technique but you're pregnant, it's a hot day, you're allowed to misread a situation once in a while.

tashac89 · 26/08/2019 17:59

Was with my OH shopping a few months ago, I was off looking at different things. Walked over to ask his opinion and she was full on flirting with him. Extremely obvious to everyone, including the customer next to me, except of course he did not get it. I found it really funny Grin explaining to him after what I was laughing about and the poor man was so confused.

tashac89 · 26/08/2019 17:59

Oops. She =sales assistant.

RedPanda2 · 26/08/2019 18:08

@dollydaydream114 agreed! There seems to be quite a few people that think every woman wants to shag their mediocre husband

Lilylay · 26/08/2019 18:10

Lol a sales assistant was flirting with my DH in a shop the other week. She had not seen me as I was round the corner with Ds.
DH was clueless Grin it took me asking him out to realise that I was flirting with him

60sbird · 26/08/2019 18:12

You should be proud that a younger woman was looking at your husband, don’t forget you are going home with him

Mamabear88 · 26/08/2019 18:14

As someone who has worked in retail I can assure you it is her job to make eye contact (what is she supposed to do, look at your feet?!) and smile at you. I very much doubt a young, pretty girl was hitting on a married man with his pregnant wife and 2 kids in tow. You are 100% being completely unreasonable and to quote Taylor Swift - you need to calm down.

kaytee87 · 26/08/2019 18:15

Unless your DH looks like brad Pitt in his heyday I think it's hormones 😂

1forAll74 · 26/08/2019 18:15

No, don't cry about anything, it sounds like a fun day out really !

BlueCornsihPixie · 26/08/2019 18:21

Maybe he had lettuce in his teeth, maybe he looked like someone she knows or maybe she did actually fancy him.

She's allowed to find him attractive, it doesn't mean she's going to leap on him.

A waitress flirted with my DP the other day, I just teased him about it. He's not going to go shag the waitress, and I'm not going to give her death glares for a 30 second flirt.

BlueCornsihPixie · 26/08/2019 18:22

Plus she was probably just doing her job

Andysbestadventure · 26/08/2019 18:25

She was probably wondering why the crazy pregnant lady was giving her the stink-eye when she was just trying to provide good customer service 😳

KurriKurri · 26/08/2019 18:26

Who is he going home with ?
Who is he having a baby with ?

You should have given her a smug look as you breezed out of the shop Smile

CalmDown123 · 26/08/2019 18:27

Gosh OP. That was a dick move.

Your behaviour is genuinely disgusting. And I say that as someone who has worked in retail for a very long time.
There are always customers like you going around the store making the lives of store assistants more difficult than it is.

We are encouraged to be extra friendly.

Believe me nobody cares about your husband or you. Next time learn some manners and stop abusing customer service stuff.

You sound a bit jealous by the way.

Sparklesocks · 26/08/2019 18:28

It’s her job to be nice to the customers, he was a customer so that’s most likely what she was doing.
And even if she was flirting (unlikely) your OH wasn’t arsed, so no harm done.

kaytee87 · 26/08/2019 18:32

@CalmDown123 abusing? I think you need to take note of your name Grin Op was being ridiculous, sure. When did giving someone a 'look' turn into abusing them?

CalmDown123 · 26/08/2019 18:35

@kaytee87 - yes, I’ve overreacted and I apologise for that. But it’s pretty pathetic to go around the store and give people dirty looks. It’s especially difficult for customer service assistants because they can’t call you up on it. Trust me she wouldn’t be so quick to give death stares to random strangers but feels able to do because as a customer she is in a position of ‘power’.

Skittlenommer · 26/08/2019 18:36

Total over-reaction boarding on bunny boiler territory! Happens a lot to my DH and doesn’t bother me at all! He’s super handsome so I don’t blame them! I take it as a compliment! Grin

lovelylondonsky · 26/08/2019 18:42

Watching you as you left?

Maybe you looked like shoplifters.

I doubt a pretty young girl would be interested in a middle aged man with a pregnant wife!

Eustasiavye · 26/08/2019 19:11

Many years ago I had a seasonal holiday job which involved serving at a poolside bar. The cow of a supervisor insisted that all the young staff ( who were all female) make some cheesy remark to all the customers. The pool bar was in a family place and virtually all the customers were older, married fathers.
I used to cringe every time a bloke smiled at me thinking that I actually fancied him.
I didn’t give a flying fuck about any of them.
They all thought their luck was in when in actual fact I was doing what I was instructed to do. It was cringe inducing.
