DD hair disaster, urgent advice needed!

Oh christ this is awful. 15 years old, we started letting her dye her hair at 13 as long as it was black/brown/blonde/red etc and not crazy colours. She's been black, dark brown, red, and brown with a purple tinge which was her most recent colour about 3 months ago. She has always done it herself with a home dye kit and we've avoided any disasters up until now. She decided she wanted to go full on platinum blonde because that seems to be the thing right now and we're going on holiday on Sunday. She goes upstairs to do it and an hour later emerges in tears after drying her hair because it's orange. And god it really is awful, there are tinges of green and red in there. We are going abroad in 2 days and all of the hair salons are saying they can't get us in with such short notice but they'll call if they get a cancellation! Does anyone have any advice? I've bought her some chocolate brown hair dye (she won't go out) because I feel dark colours will cover it all up but I don't want to use it yet as I have no idea what I'm doing!

Calm, calm, calm. I'm assuming dd used bleach? Fine, loads of people over bleach to snapping point at home, she's nowhere near that. Her hair has lightened, albeit not to the desired colour, but it is fixable. Don't use the chocolate dye. Use a bleach bath, by which I mean a fifty fifty mixture of the original bleach and shampoo, preferably head and shoulders but don't worry. Leave it on for half an hour, wash out, natural dry. Don't worry about the colour. Tomorrow night, use any light ash blonde box dye. It will not be the colour dd wants but it will see her through her hols, sun (and a wee bit of sun in or lemon juice) will make for a beachy look. Sort it professionally when you come home x

Sorry, missed she'd already used the brown. Hope it's a OK x

If its still green tinged then head to Boots tomorrow and get some Bleach London Rose Shampoo and Conditioner. It's a pink shampoo to give blonde hair a pastel pink tint but apparently also cancels out green tones in hair because the red tones cancel out green. She can use it whilst you are away on holiday.
