A court has ruled that anti-abortionists should keep 100 meters away from women attending the Ealing clinic. AIBU to say quite right too?

I wish the anti abortion people would realise that no one gives a shit about your opinion. Literally no one.

listsandbudgets · 23/08/2019 13:27

For myself I don't think I could have an abortion. However, plenty of other women as is their right make the decision to do so and that is their choice.

Attacking them at the gates to the clinic is neither the time nor the place to do so. By that time, they've pretty well made their minds up. some may decide differently once inside but being acosted by a leaflet weilding protester is no the right way forward.

There are some pro life charities in the UK which do offer some element of support to help make those decisions and even some that offer a bit of ongoing support. If women are in two minds they may choose to contact those organisations. However I imagine they'd do that long before they reach the clinic itself

Thanks so much to the previous poster who has reminded me I'm a murderer as well as a rape victim.

I was also abandoned as a baby, in foster care and luckily adopted. I'm still pro-choice.

Calling women like myself murderers is absolutely hateful and disgusting. And claiming the moral high ground then speaking to people that way is ridiculous.

A nurse at the clinic I had my post rape termination at said to me a few minutes after I came around from anaesthetic said that she needed to speak to me about contraception.

I said I was raped.

She said "They all say that"

Yeah I really fucking revelled in that experience. I will never get her response out of my head. Ever.

There are personal beliefs and then there is cruelty. I hope you realise the effect of your words on others and I also hope you never have to be the recipient of such vitriol.

ThatCurlyGirl I'm so sorry you were put through that, its indefensible. Flowers

ThatCurlyGirl · 23/08/2019 13:59

@TheInebriati

Thank you so much Thanks

I can't fathom why that nurse worked in that clinic, I dread to think how many girls and women she has said that to. Like you said, totally indefensible.
