To be pissed of at my boss

Ok sorry it is s bit long but didn't want to drip feed. Got a boss who is a nightmare and she likes to publicly humiliate people, do she tried to do it to me a couple of weeks ago by printing out a couple of documents she claimed showed I had made a mistake on. She the waved them about as she marched over to my desk and slapped them down and announced loudly in the open plan office that I had done them wrong. When I looked at them and noticed that they were partial documents of the same thing and pointed that out to her she got onto a temper and stomped off. An hour later she announced that i would be working at a different location for the next two weeks for training purposes, ok but the new location is 24.5 miles further away from my home so almost 50 extra miles a day travelling, an extra hour at least of travel time. Of course there was no training provided I was just hot desking at another location. Then an insulting meeting towards the end of the 2 weeks where I did not show the appropriate degree of gratefullness for the previous 2 weeks of non training i was told it was now extended a further 2 weeks. So I will be forced to drive an extra 1000 miles, spend £300 on fuel and with the extra travel time loose around 26 hours, just because she is a bitch. And the £300 is coming out of my holiday savings. I am beyond livid and feel like walking out. How can I kill her and hide the body?

I like your thinking

When you get back say well I really enjoyed that training. We learned so much. I particularly enjoyed the sessions on how to deal with bullying in the work place.

notagoodidea · 20/08/2019 21:47

That's an idea

I had a boss like this once. She had it in for me when I called her out and asked that if she is going to have a go at me to do it in private and not in front of other members of staff as that was unprofessional.
I have posted about her before she was the lovely boss who told me to wear a thicker pad rather then go home during a miscarriage

Speak to HR / her line manager / head of service etc..

People like this get away with being shitty managers because no one fights back. You are an employee and do have the right to question her professional behaviour appropriately. Gather evidence of her questionable conduct if you can.

SummerWhisper · 21/08/2019 00:13

You really need to join a union. Your rep can support you in meetings and help to represent your case to HR. Start gathering evidence from tomorrow about everything she does. Try to keep everything by email. Keep a log of dates, times and conversations / actions. Speak to ACAS (it's free). This is horrendous bullying and she thinks she can get away with it because of her line manager. Record her. It can't be used as evidence but it is proof that she is unhinged and off the scale. No good company wants a manager like that working for them.

ThisIsNotMyRealName1 · 21/08/2019 02:20

All you need is hungry pigs. Or you could go the stuff and pose her around the office way as per Bananas

Great thinking TheDarkPassenger - like Throw Mama From the Train.

Sorry OP I have no helpful suggestions but it sounds terrible. Once those untouchables manage to surround themselves with a layer of protection it's a tough nut to crack.

notagoodidea · 21/08/2019 07:36

Lilylay that is horrible, I am sorry you had to go through that.
Thisis would that not be cruel to the pigs, all that bitterness and hatred to have to eat, but it does have a certain appeal

Summer I have been making notes and I will turn it into a diary to record everything, and I asked about union membership from a member of a different team so it would not get back and they sent me the details. But thanks for the suggestion

A union won't take up an existing case, so join today and check their 'waiting period' which is the length of membership before they will deal with you with the full suite of benefits. However, you will still be repped without the additional resources but all you need right now is back-up. She might just shit herself if you get a strong rep who can wipe the floor with her.

Someone I knew once suggested dressing a victim up as a scarecrow, leaving them in the field for a few weeks, adequately supported, then letting nature take its course. Any bones being disposed of by wild life. Funnily enough, they were also talking about a boss they hated...

notagoodidea · 21/08/2019 10:04

Like it Vivien

Bitch face pal boss just asked me how it was going and I questioned why I was here. I said I did not see any benefit to bieing here. Was told they think it is beneficial so I have to stay the 2 weeks extra. Guess I know where I stand with them then. Ignored anything I had to say

Brefugee · 21/08/2019 10:26

Join the union. Keep a diary. After your 3 months (I think) of union membership if the bullying is still going on, ask the union rep how to handle it.

Everybody: Join. A. Union.

I’d harp on about how great the other office is and wouldn’t it be great if everyone got the same opportunity!

MrsCasares · 21/08/2019 13:04

There is a team of Martha’s on the handmaids tale that are good at disposing if bodies. Contact them.

Londonmummy66 · 21/08/2019 13:23

@MrsCasares - those Marthas were awesome - cleaned up all the evidence as well......................Grin

Pukkatea · 21/08/2019 13:23

I'd still escalate it to the manager above her, pals or not. Someone very senior might not want to risk themselves looking bad or be more in tune with how abuse of staff can reflect badly on them and have negative consequences and be more willing to help, at least getting you out of non-existant training even if your boss faces no consequences.

It doesn't sound like you have a lot to lose.

notagoodidea · 21/08/2019 15:00

Where can I find a handy team of Marthas

OP posts:
QuestionableMouse · 21/08/2019 15:57

If she's calling it training and there's a paperwork/email trail of it being training then I'd treat it like training regardless of what goes on.
