To ask if you've ever experienced this - I CANT WEE!

I can't bloody wee!!

Has anyone experienced this before? For the past couple of days it's been incredibly hard for me to wee. I have to really push hard for it to come out yet I'm desperate to go! Blush

This morning it took about 5/10 minutes for me to get a full bladder out.

Do I bother a doctor with this? It doesn't hurt to wee, just doesn't want to come out!

I had this. Had to go to hospital for a procedure. Not pleasant but 100% helped. It was basically a metal rod that looked like a knitting needle and they insert it to stretch the area, it was uncomfortable/painful but over quickly. Overall felt better afterwords with more energy, I wish I hadn’t left it so long to go to doctors

Please see your GP or go to casualty asap.
My son had this problem some years ago. He needed an operation to 'stretch' his uretha as it kept closing up due to it narrowing at the top.
Urine retention can be fatal, it's of paramount importance that you seek medical intervention sooner rather than later.

I'm on my way now. Thank you all

Can be a proper emergency

NeedingAdvice29 · 20/08/2019 13:19

Prolapsed bladder might be the simplest explanation. I struggle to wee because of mine

squee123 · 20/08/2019 13:25

hope you're seen quickly and on the mend soon

Glad you are getting seen. I had this when I first developed cauda equina syndrome 4 years ago - I did have horrendous back pain though!

It can be a medical emergency, urine retention is not to be taken lightly. Can be for many reasons, best of luck to you.

71wheretogo · 20/08/2019 16:48

Hope you're ok. My friend had this, and it turned out to be a huge fibroid in her uterus which was pressing against the urethra and blocking it.

PanamaPattie · 20/08/2019 16:49

I've got an advert to help a "weak urine stream" at the top of this page. 😮

ICantBloodyWee · 20/08/2019 17:07

Thank you all for your concern today and encouragement to be seen! It's a confirmed UTI so on antibiotics!

Very strange. I've had them before but never painless and never with this symptom! But there we go!
