To ask if you've ever experienced this - I CANT WEE!

I can't bloody wee!!

Has anyone experienced this before? For the past couple of days it's been incredibly hard for me to wee. I have to really push hard for it to come out yet I'm desperate to go! Blush

This morning it took about 5/10 minutes for me to get a full bladder out.

Do I bother a doctor with this? It doesn't hurt to wee, just doesn't want to come out!

Docs today and take a water sample with you.

PerkingFaintly · 20/08/2019 09:43

SEE A DOCTOR TODAY.

As soon as possible.

The Mumsnetter Who Couldn't Wee a few years ago now has permanent paralysis and will use a wheelchair for the rest of her life. It was cauda equina.

Hopefully yours won't be anything so serious, but...

SallyWD · 20/08/2019 09:44

I've had this for short periods caused by prolapse (uterus pushing on bladder). It can also be caused by kidney problems. It's definitely an emergency. I'd go to A and E.

ICantBloodyWee · 20/08/2019 09:48

Thanks everyone, I'm going to try and slip into a meeting room to ring GP shortly.

I'm not in any pain whatsoever and I can wee eventually but it just takes a long time and I have to really push. The flow is really minimal iyswim.

I've no back pain as a PP asked and I don't feel constipated.

You 100000% need to see a doctor sweets.. I have a kidney condition and I rarely get pain when I have an infection these days. Hopefully it's nothing serious and is just your regular UTI (with lack of symptomatic pain) but iv always been told that if you struggle to pee for more than 12 hours then you need to see a doctor asap. Hope you get it sorted soony xxx

ssd · 20/08/2019 09:54

Leave work and get a taxi to A and E

I can't believe a grown woman is having to ask this online

SuzieBishop · 20/08/2019 10:00

Definitely go see your doctor - I experienced this 3 months ago when I had DD after my caesarean and they took my catheter out. It was the weirdest feeling having a full bladder but just not being able to go. It was horrible so I hope you get it sorted soon OP x

BIWI · 20/08/2019 10:11

Don't call your doctor - call the 111 service. Personally I think you should go to A & E though.

RB68 · 20/08/2019 10:13

if you don't have a uti you soon will withholding stale urine. Could be a range of things including kidneys not working properly, prolapse, uti and so on and so on only GP can help make an emergency appt, just tell reception can't wee.

Ilovemylabrador · 20/08/2019 10:13

You need to make an emergency appointment. Could just be an infection but you need to go and see a GP ASAP. Try to collect a sample before you go and store it in the fridge until your appointment.

Piffle11 · 20/08/2019 10:13

My DM had this, and it made her life a misery. She had to fight to be referred to hospital - turned out she had fibroid cysts that were preventing her weeing. You need to go to the Dr asap as this won't rectify itself on its own.

Billballbaggins · 20/08/2019 10:14

If you can’t get in with your GP you must go to a walk in centre and if there are none near you must go to A&E please do not hesitate!

PullingMySocksUp · 20/08/2019 10:16

Hope you’re getting an appointment sorted or on your way to A&E.

blubelle7 · 20/08/2019 10:22

Straight to A&E. Had this after giving birth and had to be catherised and observdd for 4 days to ensure my bladder wouldn't burst - which can lead to severe complications. Skip GP and straight to A&E

indisposed38 · 20/08/2019 10:22

If anyone can't we then it needs medical attention. Where do you think your wee will go if you don't pass it? Nowhere - you will need a catheter or you will be in extreme pain. Then you will go into shock!

TooGood2BeFalse · 20/08/2019 10:26

Hope u get medical attention soon,OP..as in asap..

Beautiful3 · 20/08/2019 10:27

Once this happened to me, I ignored it and it because unbearably worse. My gp said it was a uti. I had antibiotics to clear it up. It may not be the same as you. But go and see your gp.

MrsEricBana · 20/08/2019 10:31

Yep doctor asap. Hope all ok.

OhUmOhUm · 20/08/2019 10:36

Yes, happens every now and again, but I have MS so that's why. I drink a liter of cranberry juice and 2-3 of water throughout the day. Sit on the toilet for a while and just relax, it can take a while (20 mins +), but eventually it comes

katewhinesalot · 20/08/2019 10:39

good luck

vivariumvivariumsvivaria · 20/08/2019 10:58

That's a red flag, your GP will want to have you screened to rule out worrying stuff - go to A+E.

Don't fuck about because it doesn't hurt.

PoptartPoptart · 20/08/2019 11:03

I'll see if I can get in today

I’m going to try and slip into a meeting room to ring GP shortly

NO. GO TO A&E NOW.
I am not trying to be be alarmist and nor are all the other posters on this thread. This is potentially VERY SERIOUS and you could deteriorate rapidly.

HT85 · 20/08/2019 11:05

Sounds like cystitis which I used to get about every 2 months for years 😭 it’s horrible and you probably need antibiotics.

BlackNoir · 20/08/2019 11:21

Urinary retention is very, very serious. Don't mess about OP. Ideally you should be sat in A&E now.

Shouldcolder · 20/08/2019 11:26

I can’t believe I’m reading this. Go to hospital now!
