To think the way I take a t-shirt or jumper off isn't odd?

According to DH and ds it does. I cross my arms over, grab the bottom and just lift it up all the way.
DH faffs pulling arms through first. Ds can't "manage" if it's short sleeves as he somehow gets himself stuck. He's 8!
I'm not even a particularly flexible person.
Am I odd or they?

I look at the sole of my feet/shoes by bending my knee to the front and placing my foot on the opposite knee. I've never looked over my shoulder to do it.

TabbyStar · 17/08/2019 18:00

Oh dear, I'm a bloke on the sole of the foot thing.

I often put tops on inside out (if they are already inside out) by pulling them over my head and turning them the right way as I push my arms through, but DD can't work out the logistics of how I do it.

Women bend their knee back and look over their shoulder

Er I’ve never done that. It’s easier to lean your leg on your other leg and look that way.

Ginkypig · 18/08/2019 00:38

It depends why I'm looking at the bottom of my shoe.

If I'm looking for dog crap I'm looking in a way that means there's no chance my hand or clothes get contaminated!

I'm another arm crosser for tops.

I can't manage to look backwards over my shoulder at the sole of my foot - it's too awkward and maybe my backside is too big. I'd lift my foot up in front of me with the knee out to the side, no hands needed. I used to do a lot of ballet though, and I'm still quite bendy with good balance.

I cross my arms to take tops off, but relatively recently I've found that if I grab the garment higher up - pretty much under the opposite armpits - I can get it off without turning it inside out. This is handy if I'm planning to wear it again.

I can do the sole of the foot thing either way. If I was doing it to check if I'd trodden in dog muck I'd do it behind as less likely to scrape the shoe on trouser leg.

ShinyMe · 18/08/2019 01:23

Actually now I think about it @ErroltheDragon i grab my tops higher up too, rather than the hem. Somewhere between my boobs and my waist i suppose. I was wondering why everyone has inside out tops and i don't, so that makes sense.

Hushabyelullaby · 18/08/2019 01:34

I take each arm out and then take it off over my head. I have really fine, flyaway, hair so if I take the jumper straight over my head it gets all staticky and messy. If it's up in a clip it snags on the clip which either pulls my hair, or catches on the jumper. It also stops me getting makeup round the neckline as it rubs on my face.

As mentioned earlier, I think it’s a woman/man thing. To me the added advantage is that your tops ends up inside out that way too. Better for washing.
