Yep I always do this. Not sure how to hold the pizza while I'm cutting it without burning my fingers though

HappyNOTdriving · 15/08/2019 20:50

I bought a specific pair of kitchen scissors that I only use for pizzas which I call obviously my pizza scissors.

Dp still uses a pizza wheel but I hate it as my hands aren't strong enough to do the crust.

Wonkybanana · 15/08/2019 20:51

The things about scissors is that it gets messy as you head for the middle. I do pizza wheel for the middle where it's softer and there's more topping, then scissors for the crust.

Sforsh49 · 15/08/2019 20:52

Yep my Mum used to do it. Husband thought it weird until he tried it now he is a convert. Also use scissors for dicing meat and chopping things like spring onions. Have been known to use them on a pepper too......

northernknickers · 15/08/2019 20:52

I've always done this. It's SOOOO much easier!

Dieu · 15/08/2019 20:53

I've got special pizza scissors. They're longer than the regular kind.

Sunshine1235 · 15/08/2019 20:53

Yes always

mumwon · 15/08/2019 20:59

If its gluten free you need pick axe & saw!

Stravapalava · 15/08/2019 21:23

Hell YANBU OP. I've done it for years. Forget the knife, forget the pizza wheel - scissors are the way forward!

NotTheMrMenAgain · 15/08/2019 21:30

Always use scissors - have a friend who also does it and the first time I saw her do it we were both excited because we didn't know anyone else who did it (bit sad really, but there you are)

fazzini · 15/08/2019 21:30

Italian family, lived in Italy for many years, everyone I ever met in Italy used scissors to cut up pizza 😊

Keepithidden · 15/08/2019 21:33

Yep, all the time here too. Also use scissors for garlic baguettes!

Gottoloveabagel · 15/08/2019 21:38

I've tried more than once with scissors but I find it more tricky than using my pizza wheel!! Not sure what I'm doing wrong Confused

AlexaAmbidextra · 15/08/2019 21:39

I always do this. Scissors are so much easier than a knife or one of those useless bloody pizza wheels.

Maryann1975 · 15/08/2019 21:48

I’m the only one of my friends group who does this. I’ve now converted dh, which is good as Ive been cutting pizza with scissors for our entire 15 year marriage, so about time he took some of my excellent advice!

mommybear1 · 15/08/2019 21:51

MN taught me this was the way to do it and tbh they were right Grin scissors ✂️ rule

IsobelRae23 · 15/08/2019 21:51

I always do. Better than the pizza cutter.

faw2009 · 15/08/2019 21:54

I had an Italian friend who did this.

LuxuryWoman2018 · 15/08/2019 21:55

I always do this, and for even more efficiency I cut the pizza before cooking so I’m not trying to cut scalding hot cheese. Just cut, out on tray, cook.

Staysexyanddontgetmurdered · 15/08/2019 21:59

Yup. Also really good for serving noodles/ spaghetti which is really stuck together. Scoop up a forkful and snip the excess off with scissors.

skybluee · 15/08/2019 22:01

I've never even thought to do this. I don't think it would work with the pizza I have, it's too floppy!

NovemberWitch · 15/08/2019 22:04

Always, for 40 years. My children do it too.

Applejack5 · 15/08/2019 22:11

I do this sometimes, it's quicker than using a pizza cutter! 😂

WrongKindOfFace · 15/08/2019 22:17

I do it sometimes. Mainly when I can’t find the wheel.

littlebird88 · 15/08/2019 22:19

best kitchen implement ever. use it for pizza and lots of things
