To ask Manchester MNers about safe all-night cafes etc.

I have to do something in Manchester which means I will have to stay over night and there seems to be no affordable hotel accommodation left. Are there, in the city centre, a few safe-ish cafes or bars that are open all night? Somewhere I could sit with coffee and a book for a few hours?

Avoid the Bury or Rochdale trams at night.

Last 203 night bus to stockport is at 3am and there is a premier inn next to stockport train station.

Actually last 192 is at 3:35 am and there is a hotel on A6 in heaton chapel, trivelles 89 per night for that night

Almost forgot about the 24 hr burger king in piccadilly as well. Ive spent a few hours there waiting for the 6am bus

Well, I found an affordable bed in Stockport, so thanks again, especially to the people who suggested looking in surrounding areas. It looks like an old-fashioned cheap flophouse of the sort I thought had all vanished about ten years ago, but the Trivago ratings are good enough (possibly a bit grubby but I can live with that for one night...)

Even better: if the event organisers start being silly again, I have free cancellation up until Saturday morning...

That’s good news. Have a good trip!

And let us know how it goes ...
