To ask how much you paid for Caribbean holiday?

Looking for a Summer 2020 Caribbean holiday, preferably AI for DH and myself. Would like hotel on the beach. Is it possible to get somewhere nice for approx £4000? Most well reviewed places are much more expensive than this.

Unfortunately AI or any type of holiday in Europe doesn't seem to be good value compared to Caribbean. South of France is a lovely location though. I agree though, self catering is a PITA

edwinbear we stayed in that hotel, had a fab time. Loved the beach, and the fact you had to go a fair way out before you got out of your depth. Spent a lot of time feeding the fish with bread and bananas, they ate out of our fingers, and then swimming out and snorkelling over the reef....aah, happy memories Smile

Outside of school holidays you'll be fine!! Try Blue Bay Travel, they always have fab deals.

I've stayed in a few excellence properties for around that budget and they've all been superb!

I know it's not what you want to hear but....

1996 - Jamaica
10 nights room & buffet breakfast, flights & transfers - 3 star hotel.
Booked a week before we flew. A bargain £149 from Ceefax!!!!!!
An amazing holiday full of excellent trips around the island & fantastic meals out because we'd spent bog-all getting there!

No idea how much a decent holiday would cost now. God I miss Ceefax...

Summer there is very hot and humid, I wouldn’t go in July. May at the latest.

Welcometoshootingstars , I have gone off BlueBay since they issued etickets for our family holiday with our grandson's name spelt wrongly, despite already being informed of the correct spelling, then reissued the ticket but failed to tell BA. At check in, he was initially refused permission to fly. Eventually BA relented and he and his parents were allowed through.

That was a stressful start to the holiday.

Since our return, BlueBay are asking me to review my holiday in a hotel we did not stay at and which does not even exist.

So much for their admin.

I could go on... the taxi they supposedly arranged to transfer us to the airport on our previous holiday did not turn up.

That was a stressful end to that holiday.
