If you must have a trampoline don’t put it next to your neighbors Fence

I’m so bloody pissed of .we have a decking area in our garden with a roof ,it’s where we used to sit quietly to eat our meals on nice days.
The lovely neighbors behind us have backed their trampoline so it is actually shaking the fence as all the kids bounce and scream.
I’m sick of it .their garden 4 times the size of ours ,they didn’t need to put it next to our seating area..and they can clearly see it is our seating area.
They have been on it all day screaming.
I’ve 4 kids ,so yeah mine made noise ,blah blah blah ,but I wouldn’t of ever put a trampoline next to someone’s seating area.selfish

I’ve actually put it on here ,praying she’s on Mumsnet and sees it ,and then moves it .unlikely ..but you never know

Definitely mention the light. Our neighbours at the back complained about our security light for the same reasons. I had no idea so felt awful. we moved the angle of it straight away.

ysmaem · 11/08/2019 16:51

My neighbour used to have a trampoline right next to our garden wall but to their defence they didn't really have room to put it anywhere else. Their kids have grown now so the trampoline has been replaced with a hot tub so I get to listen to sloshing water, shitty music and even worse conversations on warm evenings. I would absolutely ask them to move the trampoline! Say you're afraid your fence may break with the kids bouncing into it. Or better yet say you're afraid for the kids safety.

VenusTiger · 11/08/2019 16:51

Bloody hate the things!
My neighbours were gifted theirs and the youngest got his head trapped in the springs Shock.
She hates it herself, it goes slimy in winter and is a nuisance all summer. I told my son he wasn’t getting one ever and he has a big wooden climbing frame/swing/slide instead.

Walkamileinmyshoes · 11/08/2019 16:51

Hopefully she’s not unhomme and couldn’t give a hoot.

Can’t stand people like that. So long as they’re all right it doesn’t matter about anyone else.
You wouldn’t consider having a quiet word?

Surfskatefamily · 11/08/2019 16:51

I'd honestly just deal with it. Its probably in the position that fits in with their garden and if they concreted it in I'd let it be.
If your planning on hosting a dinner party if something I'd just give them a knock and ask if they can keep kids off it that evening

PumpkinP · 11/08/2019 16:54

I’m looking into getting a trampoline and the only place to put it is against the fence so my neighbours will just have to deal with it.

gobbyone · 11/08/2019 16:55

I don't understand why you won't speak to them?

Take a video the next time it's shaking the fence.

Surfskatefamily · 11/08/2019 16:55

I'm not saying that to sound harsh but these things generally don't bother me. I'm used to being tightly packed to neighbours in a little terrace so we all kind of socialise in the back gardens. It's not very private

I get if your more used to quiet and privacy tho.... Maybe after the first summer of it the kids will get bored of trampolining

HeadintheiClouds · 11/08/2019 16:56

Why should op be limited to one evening of peace if she happens to be holding a dinner party?

gobbyone · 11/08/2019 16:57

@PumpkinP

I hope your neighbours get motion activated sprinklers then. I would.

You're a twat.

Nanny0gg · 11/08/2019 16:57

Of course you can speak to them about it!

And if they can't do anything about the trampoline then I don't know...

But the light - if they refuse, speak to the council;.

HeadintheiClouds · 11/08/2019 16:58

my neighbours will just have to deal with it. So many socially challenged halfwits about these days.

PumpkinP · 11/08/2019 16:58

So if someone only has one place they can put a trampoline which happens to be next to their neighbours fence they are a “twat” Hmm

gobbyone · 11/08/2019 16:59

Yes.

gobbyone · 11/08/2019 17:00

A big, fluffy twat with a vajezzle on.

Poochandmutt · 11/08/2019 17:00

I wish it didn’t bother me surfskatefamily
It’s mainly the squeaking of the trampoline that irritates me most come to think of it.
Kids noises I’m able to zone out from.

PumpkinP · 11/08/2019 17:01

Well I’m still going to get one, it’s in my garden so tough they can think I’m a twat all they want Grin

HeadintheiClouds · 11/08/2019 17:02

And they assuredly will.

gobbyone · 11/08/2019 17:03

And send you the bill if it destroys their fence

Hearthside · 11/08/2019 17:06

Yanbu op .We have a trampoline and we put it in the part of garden that wouldn't disturb the neighbours and i also went to our neighbour's and said if it ever did get too noisy please come and say .They never have in three years .The lights would drive me mad too op , if it is disturbing your sleep speak to the council that isn't on and could be deemed a light nuisance.

PumpkinP · 11/08/2019 17:06

It won’t touch the fence, it will be next to it though, there’s trees along the fence anyway so there will be a gap so they can try with a sprinkler but it won’t work

MissConductUS · 11/08/2019 17:08

Your local A&E will probably be seeing those kids at some point. Kids are brilliant at coming up with ways to break their bones on trampolines.

At a minimum they should require the nets around them. That can cut the risk in half/

S1naidSucks · 11/08/2019 17:09

Start playing lovely music such as Rammstein. It’ll be very educational for the little darlings. My boys may have actually done this for the little darlings next door, in response to their scummy parents encouraging them to stand hitting the fence, in order to irritate our dogs. Strangely enough, it stopped them. 😁

HeadintheiClouds · 11/08/2019 17:11

Have you any self awareness whatsoever, Pumpkin? You don’t appear to know or care how thoroughly unpleasant you come across.
