I was already hooked on his videos, I find him hilarious and that sort of humour appeals to my tiny, tiny mind.

But now a mum of a little girl who is a huge fan and also deaf has posted a video of him signing with her. She wasn't allowed on stage so he invited her back stage so he could sing whilst she signed. I'm in bits 😭it's such a lovely video and he just comes across as such a nice lad, If I was his mum I'd be so proud 😭😭😭😭

I'm from Hamilton so close enough to notice small changes in accents around central Scotland. To me he sounds a wee bit east Grin

juls1888 · 07/08/2019 13:36

He's definitely from West Lothian, think it's Blackburn or Bathgate - something like that.
My DH had some banter with him on Twitter and got loads of abuse from his groupies who took his sense of humour all to heart. It was hilarious. I love his songs and his patter Grin

chipsandpeas · 07/08/2019 13:50

He’s from Whitburn and a lot of ppl from there sound west coast

TheBigBallOfOil · 07/08/2019 13:55

Is he related to peter or am I imagining there is a tribe of good eggs all from the same family?
I also don’t like his music but have heard him being interviewed and he is a total scream.

RubbingHimSourly · 07/08/2019 14:00

TheBigBall his dad is Peter Capaldis cousin. He pulled a few strings and got him to appear in one of his videos.

I'm blaming hormones but someone's done such a good job with him 😭😭😭

Fabulous. My hopes for a tribe of capaldis filling the world with wondrousness are justified.
Perhaps they’d like to take over the government?

ACPC · 07/08/2019 14:59

Oh Lewis and co could sort this Brexit shite out in half an hour plus tea break.

Mrsjayy · 07/08/2019 15:03

*I'm glad you liked the tracksuit video. I was pissing myself laughing at it.

"Ladies, do you need somewhere to put your purse*?" grin

Grin

He is so funny he reminds me of a boy one of my Dds went to school with acheeky bugger but gets away with it because he was hilarious

Mrsjayy · 07/08/2019 15:05

I think he went to Bathgate academy he did a video touring bathgate maybe they moved there ?

Mrsjayy · 07/08/2019 15:08

A woman I worked beside is from west calder she has a funny accent with a bit of a west twang going on.

Gingerkittykat · 07/08/2019 15:12

There have have been various stories about where he is from including Whitburn, Armadale and Glasgow.

My cousins met him at a West Lothian train station and he was happy to take pics etc.

I love his humour and he is obviously still down to earth, his humour reminds me a bit of Kevin Bridges.

QualCheckBot · 07/08/2019 15:18

Can't stand him. Had the misfortune of living in that area for a few years and I didn't enjoy it. Strange area. Lots of poverty and really very run down parts with industrial decay visible everywhere, but lots of extremely expensive new build mini McMansions too.

The accent grates on you after a while. Its almost like a deliberate slurring of words to make it sound even more casual. Like.

I find it quite affected, and I can't stand the crudeness. Just doesn't appeal to my sense of humour at all. Not into yet more boy singers crooning boring ballads either!

Mrsjayy · 07/08/2019 15:32

Say what you feel Qual don't you hold back now Grin tbf these villages and small towns will have poverty alongside affluence just like most of Scotland that were industrial towns

SparklyMagpie · 07/08/2019 15:33

Aww I love him and I wish he was my boyfriend Grin

Motherofacat · 07/08/2019 15:40

I do like Lewis Capaldi. Saw him at TRNSMT with the chewbacca mask and was lmao. Some of his songs are a bit sappy for my taste but he does have an amazing voice and fantastic sense of humour

Hidingtonothing · 07/08/2019 15:48

I wonder if he'd come and join us if someone linked this thread on his twitter Hmm Smile

ssd · 07/08/2019 19:36

I read how he referenced Kevin Bridges somewhere... HOOSE RICE!!! Grin

ALemonyPea · 07/08/2019 19:44

I love Lewis Capaldi. He is like that lad at school that got on with everyone.

blueberryporridge · 07/08/2019 20:03

His music is meh. He swore like a trooper at a family-friendly festival I was at last weekend. I'm not seeing the attraction personally. Maybe you need to come from his neck of the woods to see it...

HeresMe · 07/08/2019 20:45

I will be honest know none of his songs but I love His social media prescense he knows how to work it eithier he's savvy or got a good team but he's owning it

Loving the Gregg's one

ssd · 07/08/2019 20:47

blueberryporridge, swearing at a festival whatever next.

Meggie2008 · 07/08/2019 20:53

Met him in Fauldhouse at my boyfriend's gig about a month ago, he's an absolute gem of a lad. Some laugh.

CurlsandCurves · 07/08/2019 20:57

He seems like a top lad, and I did love his music.

Until it got played on every local radio station fifty million times a day.

Totally ruined it for me, can’t bear to hear the 2 songs he’s got out right now, they’re like fingernails down a blackboard for me.

Not his fault but just total Capaldi overkill.

Mrsjayy · 07/08/2019 21:01

1 week Paris the next Fauldhouse the boy is a jetsetter Grin

Meggie2008 · 07/08/2019 21:12

@Mrsjayy he was telling us in Fauldhouse that he was just off the plane that day from LA, definitely a jet set life 😂
