That I detest my slim cellulite ridden body?

I'm a tall lady , (5ft9)in good shape(weigh 9stn) with a reasonable diet (I don't really cut much out and do have a sweet tooth but eat in moderation),in clothes I admit I look good, however the reality is once naked my body is disgusting. I've birthed 3 children over 10 years and each time the cellulite I've amassed has grown epically.it's not an exaggeration. My thighs, bum, front and back of legs and lower tummy are like bumpy matresses full of pocks and ripples. I work out 5 times a week weight lift and run and drink plenty of water but nothing is shifting it.I can't even look at myself in the mirror ,I feel so ugly i know it's unhealthy but it really affects me.I hate wearing anything short or summer clothes.has anyone got any advice to lessen it or anything which has worked?, I sometimes feel like just chopping all my skin off on my bum and legs.

@itsabongthing I hear you. I'm in a really bad place in my life at the moment and I'm being brutal with myself ,its me trying to grasp control of some part of my life when everything else is falling apart.we all have our insecurities, im just sharing mine.

Is cellulite a female thing? Do men get it? I mean slim men?
If not, they eat sugar?
This thread is interesting.

Delatron · 07/08/2019 22:44

No men don’t get it!
Bloody typical.

Luckybe40 · 07/08/2019 23:09

Definitely try a throughout case if body brushing! It works wonders but you have to stick to it for at least 2 months!

ElizaPancakes · 08/08/2019 12:23

@WhatAMum01 I'm a size 20, I have rosacea and cellulite and I'm really unhappy with my body. But I don't have a disability, I don't have chronic pain, so I try and not feel so down about a body that actually is pretty ok, despite being fat and red.

So yes, I get we all have our insecurities, and we all have things we are unhappy about - but yes, I think it sounds like you're becoming obsessed with it based on your OP.

As many many people have said, cellulite is not only normal it can be inherited so you'll never get rid of it - if you don't think finding a way of coming to terms with it (which isn't what you asked).

So I'm sorry if it annoys you, but my opinion still stands. If you're getting to the level of wanting to skin yourself then maybe you should be listening to those of us saying this instead of trying to find the perfect beauty product?

fikel · 08/08/2019 18:31

Nothing wrong with self improvement the OP was only wanting some tips. The beauty industry wouldn’t be so massive if we weren’t interested in our bodies, face, well being etc

GroggyLegs · 08/08/2019 18:50

Or, on the other hand fikel...
We wouldn't feel so insecure if the beauty industry didn't constantly promote that they have 'solutions' to achieving unattainable ideals in a patriachal society that demands women earn their space in the room by being pretty.

For a bit of body positivity, take a look at beauty Redefined on IG.

I do know how you feel OP, I really do. But changing your mindset about your body might be another really useful thing to do, alongside cutting out sugar & coffee.

WhatAMum01 · 08/08/2019 19:01

@fikel exactly this.I don't understand why comment if you get annoyed by subject! No one is asking for a psychological analysis just some advice to help reduce it.some folk just have an issue with anything

OP posts:
WhatAMum01 · 08/08/2019 19:04

@groggylegs it is true the beauty industry has a lot to answer for

fikel · 08/08/2019 21:06

My body positivity comes from what I see and what I want when I look in the mirror and it has nothing to do with the way a man views me. I’m in my 50s and I place the value of it on myself totally. My husband is loving and complementary to me.

WhatAMum01 · 08/08/2019 21:12

@fikel he sounds like a wonderful husband!I do beat myself up,I'm at a really horrid place in my life, nothing is in my control and I guess I'm being harsher than most on something others may find trivial.

You need to boost your collagen from the inside, buy some ground flax seeds, approx £1.80 from any supermarket, and have 2 servings a day (2 table spoons) on top of yogurt or in a smoothie. Within a week it boosts your collagen and gives you smooth legs and gets rid of the appearance of cellulite. If you stop the flax seed the effect wears off in a few days. I do this every summer and boosts my confidence no end.

YesQueen · 08/08/2019 21:19

I think everyone has stuff they focus on definitely. I would rather be slimmer, and I dislike my stomach but weirdly I have no cellulite Confused
I didn't realise until I got changed in front of a friend and she went "Er where is your cellulite?!"
I don't do anything special so I suspect it is genetic as I've smoked, drink too much tea, dieted etc etc

WhatAMum01 · 08/08/2019 21:23

@Singleandproud ohhhhh I'm gonna buy me some flax seeds first thing!!thank you! !

OP posts:
WhatAMum01 · 08/08/2019 21:24

@YesQueen you lucky thing!!

OP posts:
timshelthechoice · 08/08/2019 21:31

Sorry but I think a lot of it genetic. I gave birth to 3 children. I was once 2st overweight, I smoked, I drank too much, ate shit, never exercised. I had very little cellulite. Even after I lost the weight, stopped smoking, hardly drink, I have a little on my thighs and stomach. So I think the radical suggestions of cutting out things won't work.

I did find that Soap and Glory Sit Tight does work somewhat! It's a bitch to get out of the bottle so I take the lid off with a screwdriver and squeeze it out into a jar.

whatever123noname · 08/08/2019 21:34

I completely understand. I'm a size 10-12 now but used to be 4--6 and still had so much cellulite I couldn't wear shorts. I think it's genetic and also looks worse if you're pale.

Singleandproud · 08/08/2019 22:06

DD who is 10 already has signs of cellulite, she’s a perfect BMI and a competitive swimmer so unfortunately I think it is genetic.Ive always had it whether a size 8 or 16.

Singleandproud · 08/08/2019 22:10

@WhatAMum01 this article is good at explaining why/ how flaxseed works at reducing the appearance.

It’s such a cheap way to fix to fix the problem I wish I’d known sooner..

WhatAMum01 · 08/08/2019 22:13

Definitely sounds very genetic, gosh if @whatever123noname got it at a size 4/6 then it most surely is.guses there's no harm in trying all the suggestions for which I'm so grateful. Who'd be a woman eh?!

OP posts:
WhatAMum01 · 08/08/2019 22:18

@Singleandproud thank you so much for the article ;certainly sounds good.I'm excited about trying it!!x

FGS OP you put your thread in Aibu and then get annoyed at posters who tell you that YABU! You shouldn't have put this in Aibu if you only wanted validation and suggestions on how to eradicate cellulite.😐

Lilifer · 09/08/2019 00:20

Oh and yes, you are being unreasonable to detest your body for the reasons stated. You look good in clothes, most of us would be happy to be able to say even that much about our figures!

WanderingTrolley1 · 09/08/2019 00:51

Indeed, Lilifer.

I’m still baffled as to how she goes to the gym 5 times a week, swims and runs with a severely disabled child...
