Smoking

I really, really want a cigarette. The craving has come over me all of a sudden and I need a cigarette.

I gave up 4 years ago and have vaped ever since. Not even my vape is cutting it today.

I've had a lot of stress recently (mum dying suddenly, home purchase falling through, PTSD, being temporarily homeless, DD being a pain (she's with me 24/7 - I've been a single parent since she was born), chronic pain, moving into new home etc)
I'm having a glass of wine and I am so tempted to pop to the shop and buy a pack.

I can't think of one reason not too.

Is it really U of me to have a few tonight with some wine? Or is that a really stupid idea?
I'm confident it would only be tonight and I'll be back on the vape from tomorrow.

Oh please don’t do it! I empathise so so so so much but as an ex smoker of one year standing there’s not a moment goes by where I’ve been super stressed in a situation where I would not have been able to have a ciggy anyway and the “ragey cagey” feeling would be 10x what it is now.

For that alone I’m so glad I gave up - it’s such a social taboo nowadays there are more and restrictions on smokers you can hardly light up anywhere.

It’s the raw memory of THAT feeling of “waaaaah I want a fag and I can’t have one” flashing through my brain that stops me lighting up again.

And I miss fags too.

Stay strong.

*ShabbaDo, don't do it, try and stay focused on stopping. I've stopped after 46 years of smoking.
I never say I've given up, try and change the language you use around smoking.
Giving up implies that you're depriving yourself of something good. We all know that there's nothing good about smoking so when I say I've stopped. I mean I've stopped doing something that is detrimental to my health.
Back in the day when I started I used to say I'd stop when they were £1 a pack. Ha, that didn't happen.
Don't be me op, the one that had chronically high blood pressure and that resulted in me having a stroke.
Four years without is an incredible achievement and really well done to you Flowers
If you can please stick with the stopping

No no no no no no. You won’t stop at one. The craving will pass and you won’t regret it

Meangirls36 · 03/08/2019 20:51

Could you smoke a cigar and not inhale?

JangledBat · 04/08/2019 00:43

Get liquids that give you a throat hit. Totally Wicked or Vampire Vape, anything fruity with menthol just does it for me.

I smoked from early teens. I'm 52 now and switched to vaping 2 1/2 years ago when my Dad died from lung cancer

No way could I go back after all those lovely flavours. I wish I'd discovered vaping years ago

OP you definitely need a bigger vape.

I really struggled with the cravings when I had a pen type one. It wasn't until I bought a proper tank and mod that I finally got the hit I was craving so much. You've done really well tonight x
