To be fed up for 18 year old daughter

My daughter is 18 and is going on a trip to India tomorrow with school - all Year 13 leavers. She will be away for 2 weeks. I've just come home from work and she is in tears because she has just started her period! She will be staying in a village and doing charity work so she is really worried about how she will cope. She has very heavy periods and does not get on with tampons well.

AIBU to be so fed up for her and to ask if there are any ways to lighten or stop her period on this one off occasion?

As a pp said she wants to be discreet about being on her period as she may find herself excluded from some activities if people know.
I was asked if I was before being allowed into temples.

My 18 year old daughter gets horrific periods, so I do sympathise!
I'd recommend a trip to the GP, if you can fit one in (sorry, can't remember when you said she's going). Ours prescribes my daughter extra powerful painkillers and something to stem the flow a bit.
Otherwise hers are so bad that she's physically sick.

Oh sugar, sorry, have just seen she's leaving tomorrow.
Oh well, GP for future trips.
Hope she's ok.

I hope your daughter is managing with a very debilitating illness

Thank you OP. I hope your DD manages too with her debilitating condition and has a great time in India. It's a big thing to do with anxiety etc. Sorry for being narky. Blush
