Ordered brown toast with grilled tomatoes and mushrooms. These were the mushrooms, obviously I didnt/couldn't eat them....

I didn't reply to the first thread. I like fried mushrooms.
Those look like they've been fried off them poached in stock or water to prevent shrinkage. It does make the fins of the field mushrooms look a bit dark and slimy, but lots of people like them like that.
I'm with you OP: those will be too wet for me. But we are in the minority so you can't really complain. Sorry .

The mushrooms are over done, you should have complained as soon as it was put down in front of you. No point eating the rest of the meal and posting on a forum. What do you hope to achieve?

I'm not sure why posters are having a pop at you for posting about this? Even twice, it's more interesting than a lot of the tosh that's posted on here.

Your mistake was in not saying that these mushrooms were prepared by the OW of your husband and that she may well have poisoned these. If you'd done, "AIBU in not eating these mushrooms as I think OW has poisoned them?" - you'd have got hundreds of replies and offers to 'hand hold' whilst you LTBs and had your stomach pumped...

Kudos to the posters who didn't try to make you feel like shit for posting, few and far between.

Please OP, put us all out of our collective misery, what happened? Did you at least try them? Did you complain? What did they do? 10%discount off future mushrooms? How are you feeling now? Is the world pixelated? What colour are the clouds? Have you had any meaningful conversations with lampposts this afternoon?

They look great and normal breakfast mushrooms to me.

Not over fried, greasy sliced mushrooms.

I'd eat both of the above though.

Gosh, you seem very upset about two mushrooms. Why's it such a big deal to you? It's two mushrooms.

The time to say something would have been when they were served to you, not after you'd eaten the other components of the meal.

We truly forgive you for mistakenly starting two mushroom threads. It could have happened to any of us.

The mushrooms are just of a type that goes black, they don't look burned in the photo.
