To not clean up after our sick cat?

Our 1.5 year old cat has got sickness and dhiarrea. Vomiting all over the house this afternoon and several nasty episodes the other way.

DH is dealing with it atm but has to go to work shortly (gonna nip kitty to the vets before he does)!

I adore our cat, he’s my baby but I’m 4/5 weeks pregnant (struggling with symptoms so signed off work) and received a STERN warning from vets not to touch anything that comes out of him (specifically cat feces which can be REALLY dangerous for baby).

I’m now panicking about being left with kitty all night and short of locking him in the kitchen extension (which will distress him greatly) not sure what to do. I’m hoping the vets keep him in at this rate but he HATES the vets so I feel awful!

DH is doing everything ...literally following cat around with detol and a scrubbing brush (we have wood floors so it’s not too bad) whilst I sit here on the sofa feeling useless!

Awww ,he is gorgeous Op & of course you wouldn't put him outside poorly,I don't know any animal lovers who would.
I've 4 dogs & a cat ,I wouldn't put them out all night if they were well let alone sick!
I'd worry too much.

Kitty sounds like he's on the mend, hope you also feel better soon.

You just need rubber gloves. The toxoplasmosis doesn't jump through the air! And you don't need detail or bleach. Soap and water is an adequate cleaner for almost everything.

I would clear up the sick with paper and put in bin out side and then get hot soapy water and scrub the area where the cat has been sick. There is a great non toxic product called fizzion which is fab at getting out smells. Unfortunately only available on eBay now and is pricey but it lasts for ages.

Stop using products that are toxic for your cat!!

And see if you can restrict cat to one room and put paper down everywhere.

Hopefully vet will keep him in as if he's vomiting that much he may well fe dehydrated.
