Oh, Roussette, could you give me the Twitter name of the "insider" you mention, please, I'd like to go and look at him! Thank you!
(I'm taking time off from shouting at LBC radio about Brexit! I hate the feeling of political impotence!)

Lweji · 31/08/2019 12:23

Anyway he reckons Trump will be gone by next Spring with ill health being the reason.

Is that The Mooch's source? Or him? He was saying the same a few weeks ago.

Whosorrynow · 31/08/2019 12:53

Trump and fox news Go their separate ways ...I am so looking forward to this break up 😄😁😄

lionheart · 31/08/2019 13:22

Loose cannon.

www.businessinsider.com/trump-tweeted-classified-intelligence-briefing-photo-2019-8?r=US&IR=T

'A US official told CNBC that a photo of an Iranian launchpad that President Donald Trump tweeted Friday afternoon came from an intelligence briefing Trump received earlier that day.'

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 31/08/2019 14:19

If tourism was bad in 2017, what's it like now?

Mind you, my not going to the States is not Trump's fault, though he has confirmed it. I simply don't want to go somewhere where I am routinely fingerprinted and the prints are kept indefinitely. I regard that as a sign of a tyranny rather than a democracy, and I wouldn't feel safe even if there weren't guns than there are US citizens floating about nobody-knows-where.

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 31/08/2019 14:21

more guns! Not just "guns", that doesn't make sense.

Roussette · 31/08/2019 14:32

@MerdedeBrexit

Of course! He/She is @AngrierWHStaff and has 145.5K followers of which I'm one Grin

Every week or less, he does this 30 minute AMA session... unfortunately because of time difference I'm never online when this happens, so I can't as a question directly but I always read him and I've followed him since he popped up April 2017 and a lot of what he has said comes true. He also has a blog site angrystaffer.com Worth reading because he often expands on stuff he doesn't have the space to, on Twitter.
(Disclaimer I have no idea if he is 100% legit!)

Lweji maybe this guy is the Mooch but I think he was around before Mooch went into WH

Well, it's something I asked myself.

Love this opening line ...

www.latimes.com/business/hiltzik/la-fi-hiltzik-trump-tariff-bailout-20190524-story.html?fbclid=IwAR14Vq0toNSRMWK045Z3IP5SLoKQHiOJ83DW4cI1lGOt6-5Fkelkl5ECBUA

'We’ll say this for President Trump: When he misunderstands something, he misunderstands it more than anyone else in creation.

Take the business of tariffs. Trump is unshakably convinced that his tariffs are a tax on China. He repeated this grossly erroneous claim just Thursday, during his announcement of a new $16-billion bailout for farmers harmed by, yes, his tariff war.

“Just so you understand,” he said, “these tariffs are paid for largely by China. A lot of people like to say by ‘us.’ ”

Well, the people who say that are economists and other experts who have done the math, and found that the tariffs Trump has imposed on imports from China cost American consumers $68.8 billion last year, though some of that spending got funneled back to some domestic producers in the form of higher prices (which their customers, of course, paid).'

cozietoesie · 31/08/2019 19:45

You stagger me, Lion. Grin

cozietoesie · 31/08/2019 19:46

Sorry. lion.

lionheart · 31/08/2019 20:19

I don't know why I didn't capitalise my username all those years ago. Wink

www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2019/08/30/they-called-russia-probe-hoax-now-comey-ig-report-exposes-their-hypocrisy/

'To hear the Trump team tell it, the media’s biggest sin was reporting on potential collusion and obstruction of justice. When special counsel Robert S. Mueller III concluded there was no criminal conspiracy and punted on obstruction, all of it was immediately rendered foolish, overzealous speculation. Reporters who circumspectly detailed key events months and years before Mueller did publicly were suddenly lumped in with pundits who had declared President Trump to be a guilty man.

But many of the same people who objected to this exercise were happy to publicly convict James B. Comey of something he’s now been cleared of. They did so using an unfounded allegation that’s now proved baseless.'

yolofish · 31/08/2019 21:39

On the Westminstenders thread there is a lot of talk about the Orange One's seeming decline - mental and physical. Any update on that?

yolofish · 31/08/2019 22:01

thanks lionheart. With fine British understatement, it's a little bit alarming to think he has access to the red button...

MerdedeBrexit · 01/09/2019 07:50

Thanks, Roussette, I find I'm already following them but don't see their posts, if that makes sense. I love the speculation that the Angry Staffer is an expletive laden #44 Grin
Oh, and I found a reply from the Angry Staffer on Trump's mental state in the latest Ask Me Anything saying Trump's resignation on the grounds of ill-health would be by 1st of the year, if not earlier.

Lweji · 01/09/2019 09:13

Another impeacheable offense?

Trump’s pardon offer may have violated federal bribery laws

www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/2019/08/30/trumps-pardon-offer-may-have-violated-federal-bribery-laws/

cozietoesie · 01/09/2019 16:49

Across

I'm judging that you won't be affected yourselves.

Will you be taking in anybody, though?

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 01/09/2019 17:07

Am I a very bad person if I wish that Mar-a-Largo has to be evacuated completely, and while it is empty it gets razed to the ground by Dorian?

Did Trump really cancel a diplomatic visit in case his property was at risk? What does he think he can do to stop a hurricane just by being in the USA -- I assume he isn't planning to go down to palm Beach and stand there telling Dorian to go away?

AcrossthePond55 · 01/09/2019 20:23

Anyone is welcome to take shelter with us, cozie, but since we're 3000 miles from Fla we haven't had any takers so far. 😉😆

And I believe 100% that Scrotus staying stateside has more to do with Mar-A-Lago AND the Doral Country Club (both around Miami) than it has to do with monitoring the entire Southeastern Seaboard. He doesn't give a shit about the people in the danger zone. At least he doesn't give a shit unless they have a net worth of $10m or so.
