Absolutely nothing, NOTHING, about new gun control laws. In fact, it was not only more of the 'guns don't kill people, people kill people' bullshit, it was pretty much blaming mental illness for the whole thing.
The points I picked up on:
Violent video games
Mental Health (not better treatment, just "turn 'em in")
Death Penalty (accelerating justice)
Violence on the internet
I will say it's the (relatively speaking) 'best' statement of this kind he's given as far as the actual message. But that's obvsly because he stuck to the script and avoided adding too many adjectives. He also said we need to condemn 'racism, bigotry, and white supremacy'. That's the first time he's EVER directly condemned any of the three.
But as I mentioned above, it was all delivered in that monotone, no real emotion at all. Much different from the speeches he usually gives, full of fire and rhetoric. Don't tell me that his base doesn't pick up on the difference!
ABC news states that McConnell's office has no comment on the speech.
