Sort of- nut Mumsnet or Ntemums?

I don't know the difference. Except Netmums seems full of advertisements so I never really get to read anything on there. I have noticed on Mumsnet though, the odd comment like,' You should be on Netmums.' Why? AIBU to think Mumsnet better than Netmums?

I'm on both. I took a break from Netmums for a few years and then joined again and noticed there doesn't seem to be many people on there as there was and not many updates or new threads. Netmums is all pregnancy tests, MN is a broader range of topics.
Although there's no swearing allowed on NM I've noticed a lot of vulgar replies. It's either really, really nasty stuff or sickly sweet.

ChihuahuaMummy1 · 22/07/2019 17:41

@DeRigeur thanks

Ameanstreakamilewide · 22/07/2019 17:58

So, Mumsnet is the Rizzo to Netmums Sandy??

I like it. 😉

LoseLooseLucy · 22/07/2019 18:03

The Rizzo and Sandy comparison is brilliant 😂

Orangedaisy · 22/07/2019 18:04

I’d put NM as more Frenchy than Sandy.

Tell me about it, stud. (Grease ref)

@OrangeDaisy nah, definitely Sandy,I can imagine Olivia newton-John calling someone hun in an Australian accent 😁

YourSarcasmIsDripping · 22/07/2019 18:24

The main upside of NetMums for me was that there weren't many namechanges and you actually got to know people. So much so that I've met quite a few good friends on there including in real life. I think Mumsnet is a bit more closed off and distant, not necessarily an issue though.

The downside was no swearing, sarcasm was frowned upon and "my style of posting" got me warned/banned....several times.Grin I've yet to even be reported once on here.

Mumsnet is more varied as well, the feminist section is awesome and the advice given on relationships is (mostly) focused on the well-being of women rather than worship you man,he works hard kind of thing.

YourSarcasmIsDripping · 22/07/2019 18:26

There was also a big seedy tale of affairs ,preying on vulnerable women and bullying under various accounts and little gags which left a very bitter taste in my mouth, even as mostly an outsider so when I spoke up I got my lifetime ban . Not even sorry.

Rosehip10 · 22/07/2019 18:33

Answer to most child related stuff on netmums "happy mum happy child hun"

Yabbers · 22/07/2019 18:34

I stopped going on NM when I saw a couple of posters being ridiculed and ranted at for mentioning how gender self Id was affecting womens place in society/their safety etc. Men in womens prisons, 'inclusion packs' for schools, men being charged with crimes but being recorded as women etc (when it was actually just emerging that this was going on and discussed widely here) There is no place for feminism on NM apparently.
Don’t like people disagreeing with you, huh?

Willow2017 · 22/07/2019 18:43

Don’t like people disagreeing with you, huh?

WTF?
How could I be "a couple of posters"? I saw them being attacked, I thought the thread wa going to be addressing the facts. I rarely posted except with a couple of people I got to know on there, didnt like all the 'huns' and MLM crap they promoted. I was shocked that nobody had a clue what was happening in RL and thought thats it I am out.

How could slagging off someone for stating facts be termed as 'disagreeing with you'?
Everything they said was patently true or dont you believe anything you can see with your own eyes either?

Sorry, you must be right none of the above ever happened in RL!

Mitzicoco · 22/07/2019 19:01

Have just briefly been on NM site and it appears to be very boring. Not to say it is, it's just that it looked so boring I didn't bother reading much.....huh.Glitterball

There’s just way too many sub catagories on MN. There’s a topic for everything.

GoGoGoGoGo · 22/07/2019 20:35

Netmums! Not MN.

Daffodils07 · 22/07/2019 20:42

The only thing I liked about netmums years ago was that you could actually talk to health visitors (well post and they would answer).
Which was quite handy when you wanted to ask a non important question or just needed a bit of advice.
But I do perfer it on mumsnet though as its seems more adult.

Tallgreenbottle · 22/07/2019 20:43

If Mumsnet was a borough it would be Richmond/Twickenham.

If Netmums was a borough it would be the Wythenshawe/Stockbridge Village.

Tallgreenbottle · 22/07/2019 20:44

*estates. Damn phone.

HugsAreMyDrugs · 22/07/2019 20:45

Netmums gives me a headache.

Threeminis · 22/07/2019 20:50

@ChihuahuaMummy1
Mumsnet Rizzo
Netmums Sandy.

Perfect.

ethelfleda · 22/07/2019 21:03

Netmums is Sandy
