I do like his show but honestly, what a fuss he makes about Serious Jockin’ on a Friday! It’s just tunes Steve, get over it!

My fave has always been Simon Mayo. When they changed the drive time show Iost total respect for R2 and put in a complaint for the 1st time ever!

cardibach · 22/07/2019 21:28

Never listen to him as he’s totally shit and I’ve decided it’s better for my health if I put something else on. I really don’t get Serious Jockin’ though. If he thinks it’s good, shouldn’t he be doing it all the time? And if he’s taking the piss, why is it being inflicted on us at all?

Susiesoap7 · 22/07/2019 21:32

Well I just love him!
But Elaine page! Yuck

Teacakeandalatte · 22/07/2019 21:37

I miss the old R2 line-up of slightly crazy but amusing presenters Alex Lester, Sarah Kennedy and Wogan from the days they kept me company on my early starts.

Loveislandaddict · 22/07/2019 21:44

The best bit about the Steve Wright show is The Oldies.

The Serious Jockin’ ( “ no G”) annoys me also.

Rylan wasn’t an obvious choice for radio, but he show is great.

cardibach · 22/07/2019 22:13

LoveIsland I’d agree the oldies are the least horrific bit. However he calls them ‘non-stop’ but can’t let them be non-stop. He has to bloody rattle on inanely between them.

Sewrainbow · 22/07/2019 22:21

Omg, people like him!?!? It's like going back to the 80s and not the good bits! I agree with pp he knows where the bodies are buried Wink

TheRLodger · 22/07/2019 23:16

Oh I can’t stand Elaine Paige. Luckily don’t tend to have the radio on on a Sunday pm.
Also can’t stand Vanessa Feltz, Jo Willey or Craig Charles . Jeremy vine has his good days and bass days. Don’t mind Micheal Ball or Richard Madely when he stands in. I quite liked it when Richard Bacon does stand ins

Desertislanddiscs · 22/07/2019 23:36

I literally do a Steven Seagal run across the kitchen to switch him off.

ScaryBunnyPainting · 23/07/2019 02:31

I love Rylan, Liza and Graham - the rest of Radio 2 can get in the bin.

mumtomaxwell · 23/07/2019 07:16

I know someone who presents the news on R2... they told me Steve Wright will never be sacked because he’s “too popular”!!!! The look they gave me whilst saying this suggested that SW really does have some serious dirt on the BBC.

666onmyhead · 23/07/2019 07:26

Oh yes ! He drives me potty with this too . Annoyin twat ( with no G)

OtraCosaMariposa · 23/07/2019 07:29

I grew up in the 80s listening to radio 1 with Gary Davies at lunchtime and Steve Wright in the afternoon.

His "banter" and giggling crew and general naff-ness was bad in 1988, I can't believe he is still doing the same thing over 30 years later. The reason Moyles and Evans and the rest think he's God is because Wright was the first to involve the producer and other randomers on air in the "fun" in the studio.

Strugglingtodomybest · 23/07/2019 07:31

I cannot stand SW's show. I used to always switch channels at 2pm, but have now started to switch at 12 because Jeremy Vine has definitely got worse. He's also ruined The Wright Stuff (Now the Jeremy Vine Show).
