To think that it’s disgraceful not to sort out your child’s tongue tie?

I just can’t understand why somebody would leave it? How did the child suck on a bottle or breastfeed? Surely it’s standard to fix it? The (now adult, early 20s) can’t stick out his tongue/lick an ice cream and how, if you have tongue tie, do you use your tongue to help you swallow food?

TT is a massive range though.

When I was in college my boyfriend at the time had a tongue tie. He was 18 when they finally cut it. His mum breastfed him and he seemed to manage just fine, nobody even noticed it until he was about 5. I can't remember the specific reason why he decided he wanted it cut at 18. I think he said it was annoying him or something.

Didn't seem to have done him any harm?

I believe the opposite is true Munchkingoat - perhaps your XBF's tongue tie wasn't to blame after all.
