What is the meaning of life - in very simple terms

Why do some people get to be born in such happy gentle and supportive families and live such happy lives being oh so happy and gentle and supportive.
Why do some of us grow up with absolutely shit parents who give us no support; who we actively have to try and overcome just to live a non-criminal and non drain on society life.
Why are some born so beautiful. Life at their feet just because of how they look.
Are most of us just meant to be ordinary. Struggling through life and then dying with no real thought of what it was all about.
Is there a higher purpose we should think about everyday - those of us already seemingly confined to an "ordinary life". But circumstances shouldn't really constrain us from knowing something more meaningful.
Does this make any sense at all?

You’ve said that you had a shitty start to life and shitty parents who didn’t give you the love and care and support you should have had. That is not fair. Don’t try too hard to figure out why that was or why it couldn’t be different. It is what it is. We have to live with life, we have to keep going, one foot in front of the other. Sometimes we will feel better, sometimes we will feel worse. But always there is another day, with another set of possibilities, another opportunity for hope.

If you are struggling, it might be good to phone the Samaritans. Or go for a walk and just breathe the air, feel the breeze and let your thoughts settle.

We are here to reproduce. Glorified bacteria cursed with self-awareness. You are born, you live, you reproduce your DNA, you die. There is no higher "purpose". With that in mind my goal in life is to have a good time. These 4 score years and 1 are all I've got and I intend to enjoy them.
