Dd, dh and myself just had a four day break by the sea side. We live as far as you can get from the seaside in the uk. Whilst on our holiday i bought dd a net. Dh and dd then spent a few hours exploring sand rock pools (no rocks, just sand with water left in them) with said net. I got amazing photos of them but as sand rock pools it was limited. Dd is two. Her favourite film at the moment is im going on a bear hunt and when they go rock pooling theres real rock pools. So knowledgeable mntters..wheres the best rock pools with dunes like the film in the uk suitable for a two almost three year old to visit. Thank you.

Whitley Bay is where I grew up, and have many fond memories of rockpooling there - that, and watching tourists getting cut off by the tide at St Mary's lighthouse :)

I spent my childhood summers rock pooling in St Ives, Cornwall. More specifically Porthmeor beach 😍

Kimmeridge is brilliant, and you could also go to charmouth and west bay for fossils and crabbing

Wembury beach in Devon, I watched it on countryfile this morning, they actually described it as having some of the best rock pools in the country.

It might be on catch up now so you can check it out

Amazing rock pooling on the causeway at Rhossili (gower) out to worms head although it’s tide dependent. Amazing dunes Nearby too

Another vote for St Mary's Lighthouse it the Northumberland coast. Loads to see and do when you're not rockpooling as well and the place to yourself. Bamburgh up the Northumberland coast is amazing

Another vote for Whitley Bay - you can climb up the lighthouse too for added fun (and a great view!).

Just been to Lyme Regis and there are lots of rock pools on the east side and you can also go fossil hunting along the beach.
