To consider using grown up stuff on my kid?

My 10 year old daughter’s hair seems to be like straw the minute... very dry. I was looking at hair products in Superdrug the other day and was considering getting her some stuff that seemed more geared towards adults. Before I do that, is there any reason why I shouldn’t? Or do you guys have any advice for any products I should buy? (For the record, her diet and water consumption is pretty good).

There is a gel on Amazon that should be used for horses manes. Its called cowboy magic. I read about it and it is the best thing ever. Just a tiny drop when you have done the rinse and it smooths out perfectly and leaves a shine. It's not greasy at all. They do shampoo as well.
My granddaughter loves it and I used it all the time,

I use Aussie shampoo and conditioner and have just found a great heat-activated cream by Soap and Glory. You apply it every 7 or 8 washes (so only once a fortnight for me) and it leaves your hair smooth and keeps any frizz away. I like that you dont have to apply it all the time and its not greasy.

@TheHandsOfNeilBuchanan there is a CG method that allows for use of low poos e.g no sulfates. Give it a try!

I use Pantene on my 5 YOs hair as I find the kids stuff very drying.

You're welcome @raadi! If you're in London, you can come to my shop. Opening next month and will be filled with natural hair products of all kinds. I've got an online shop and sell in markets at the moment, so DM me if you want that info. Smile

@edgeofheaven that's basically where I am I think, hence the shampoo bar! Still wake up looking like Russell brand though 😁

She is a swimmer yes and thank you so much Kateemo. We are not in London unfortunately (no where near) but expect a DM from me early next year if that’s ok 😂

I only used baby products during the new born stage my 6 and 9 year old have been using 'adult' shampoos and conditioners for years. Some are very harsh but I'd avoid these for my own hair too. Look for a gentle shampoo (no or low sulphates) garnier ultimate blends hair good is a great conditioner at a great price

My hair used to be awful until I found the car method, I use AsIAm coconut co wash, rinse out with cool water then apply leave in conditioner (I use Giovanni leave in and cantu curl activator) only apply leave-ins to soaking wet hair. No blow drying and no heat. Get hair soaking wet before swimming if not using a cap as it (apparently) stops your hair from soaking up the chlorine (I’ve never done this but heard it helps)

TheJoxter · 15/07/2019 14:13

That should say CG method

Awesome @raadi! Enjoy your summer. Pools are tough, but children love them. Both of my DDs swim/dive, so I feel your pain!
