AIBU to call it that the future Queen Katherine is pregnant again!

The tiny bump at the women's Wimbledon final. The looser fit below the waist dress today at the men's. Her face is glowing and slightly fuller. I bet 6/7wks 👌

I've called it every time so I soooooo want to be right this time too, just because 😂

This at least is a moderate improvement on Saturday’s thread about Meghan Markle being pregnant again based on the compelling evidence of her having a non-flat belly fully eight weeks after giving birth. 🧐

I felt my IQ drop at least 50 points on that thread.

zonkin · 15/07/2019 12:17

Yes, that was a depressing thread.

IABUQueen · 15/07/2019 12:24

So whats a defined role for the future kings wife and other duchesses, without being an incubator and an accessory?

I think if we agree on a non sexist role it might improve the way these threads are going.

It’s the public that pays and so the public that defines the job. I’m still intimidated by the pp who said her job was to carry babies and look good. Surely that’s objectifying !?

ItIsWhatItIsInnit · 15/07/2019 12:25

Stop driving, flying, using chemicals, fertilisers, plastics etc. Only eat produce that is seasonally grown in your home country, and so on. That needs to be addressed globally.

Again, having kids is worse than you doing all of that - because your kids will be doing all of that, plus nappies, clothes, and all the resources that they take up. Google it. Having 1 child is worse environmentally than taking many long-haul flights every year, eating nothing but meat, never recycling. The single best thing anyone can do for the environment is to not reproduce.

Even if all billions of us stop doing the things you mention, there are still too many of us for the resources that we have. We need to have less children and drastically reduce our population rate.

IABUQueen · 15/07/2019 12:29

I thought a role for these women is their philanthropical work which affect the community. Utilising their compassion and status, and so on.

Why isn’t there more threads on the charitable work of those women and what achievements?? Less on clothes and body shapes ?!

It’s a true reflection of how behind society is about women’s equality. Really.

IABUQueen · 15/07/2019 12:33

Surely we all need to look presentable on a job, but to make it out to be “their role”.... I’m sure none of us are happy to pay taxes just for a super model.

I heard Kate is on mumsnet. And probably now Meghan too...

Wouldn’t it be better if they see threads about what community changing projects we mothers want them to initiate?? And make that our focus?? Instead of making them busy defending themselves against body shaming and private family dynamics which we have nooooooo business in??

Look at the Queen of Jordan?! She is very well known for her work in the community. Yes she dresses well, but she isn’t celebrated mostly for that! She is mostly defined by her work for other women.

It’s depressing to see the emphasis on stupid things with female British royalties. Quite hollow.

WhenOneFacePalmDoesntCutIt · 15/07/2019 12:33

So whats a defined role for the future kings wife and other duchesses, without being an incubator and an accessory?

well, nothing really. But it's the same for the actual King and the other Dukes.

ItIsWhatItIsInnit · 15/07/2019 12:34

So whats a defined role for the future kings wife and other duchesses, without being an incubator and an accessory?

Cutting the ribbon at village fetes? Smiling and waving? Having Skype calls with Lady Gaga and telling other people to donate to charity?

IABUQueen · 15/07/2019 12:37

Then I reiterate

It’s the public that pays and so the public that defines the job.

ChardonnaysPrettySister · 15/07/2019 12:44

I notice you haven't answered my questions.

I'm comfortable with my choices.

2 children, no long haul holidays, I prefer cycling or walking to driving, but do use public transport for work. Same with the two children, though my husband does drive more than the rest of us.

My kitchen is decades old, most of my furniture and rugs come from family, I wear clothes for years, I grow some herbs and flowers, but am almost on top of a waiting list for an allotment, so that would be even better.

One worry is that one of my dogs tends to shit a lot, so I need more pick up bags. But hey, we can't all be perfect.

WhenOneFacePalmDoesntCutIt · 15/07/2019 12:47

t’s the public that pays and so the public that defines the job.

as the public, I don't want to pay and I believe there is no job.

IABUQueen · 15/07/2019 12:48

as the public, I don't want to pay and I believe there is no job.

Me either. I’m against monarchy, but if the money is going there anyway we get to have reasonable expectations. Until the monarchy is abolished... it’s better than utilising the female monarchs to spread more misogyny.

WhenOneFacePalmDoesntCutIt · 15/07/2019 12:52

well, we keep hearing that they boost tourism. It would be nice if they were actually seen holidaying in various part of the country to promote it for a start. That's not difficult, is not controversial and wouldn't offend anyone.

Bringing attention to anything by cutting a ribbon and staying 2mn30 sec there is not terribly helpful.

(apart from the terminally offended, there's always one)

IABUQueen · 15/07/2019 12:53

I think we would have all gone to HR screaming sexual harassment or sexism if we received the same type of scrutiny about our body shape and relationships at work the way we go on about Meghan and Kate...

So.. it’s inappropriate to assume if you pay someone you can exploit them in this way. Don’t you think??

There needs to be a defined role that’s not objectifying and sexist. Because whether we like it or not, these women are influential. And I would like to think their influence won’t do disservice to other women, and that’s up to us.

CitadelsofScience · 15/07/2019 12:54

Chardonnay when our dog goes we will not be having any more pets, none. She's fairly ancient but like yours, she craps like its going out of fashion. I really don't care how much the kids moan.

IABUQueen · 15/07/2019 12:55

well, we keep hearing that they boost tourism. It would be nice if they were actually seen holidaying in various part of the country to promote it for a start.

That’s actually a good start. I would definitely be curious as I’m running out of holiday ideas.

ChardonnaysPrettySister · 15/07/2019 12:57

Yeah, that what I keep telling everybody. No more smelly bastarding dogs.

But they know I'm lying and so do I.

Cookit · 15/07/2019 13:01

Well the queen does holiday in the UK! She’s in Scotland half the summer and in Norfolk over Christmas etc.
I thought also it transpired recently that the Cambridges have been to the Lake District on private holidays too.

IABUQueen · 15/07/2019 13:10

I don’t feel like “holidaying” though is something that will make people happy that they “earned” their huge salaries.

Is there more to them?? because then that might give us topics to scrutinise which might be worthy of discussion.

WhenOneFacePalmDoesntCutIt · 15/07/2019 13:18

Well the queen does holiday in the UK! She’s in Scotland half the summer and in Norfolk over Christmas etc.

not sure the Queen staying in her castles closed to the public is really a boost Grin

Instead of promoting foreign ski resorts to the world, Mustique islands and the rest, the younger royals could stick to the UK for a change. They wouldn't take more holidays, just more local ones.

The way things are going, bringing more foreign currencies to this country wouldn't hurt.

I still believe they are completely redundant, but they could do something.

Shockers · 15/07/2019 13:18

@starzig- the lower class kids I work with have never had access to private education, a good diet, or nannies. I imagine many of them would progress very quickly through the social classes, given the right support.

Cookit · 15/07/2019 13:21

Btw the comment that the natural curvature of Kate’s stomach is a “pouch” from having children is Sad. However thin you are a woman’s body looks like that FFS.

Shockers · 15/07/2019 13:27

I was far more conscious of my stomach when I was very thin because there was always a little bulge. Now I’m fat, it all blends as one.

WhenOneFacePalmDoesntCutIt · 15/07/2019 13:29

the comment about the pouch on someone as slim is actually funny. Some posters really have issues. Pathetic really to be so bitter instead of addressing their own problems.

IABUQueen · 15/07/2019 13:36

Yeh and to be fair they’re making most other women feel shit and insecure reading stupid pouch comments..

I’m pregnant and after my first delivery I can’t say my stomach went back to how it was but I’m perfectly proud of it.. and currently not even focused on what will happen after second pregnancy until threads like this that make it look like there is people waiting to value you by a little insignificant bulge.

Pathetic.. so we are paying money in order to have access to royal females as a punching bag? And a way to spread misogyny?

In this case we CHOOSE to waste our money. Seriously.
