Can I wear this black and white jumpsuit to a wedding?

I am having a crisis, my outfit that I was going to wear is too tight on me. I've put on quite a bit of weight recently so I need something nice and loose to feel comfortable. I got this jumpsuit without thinking about it being white - whoops 🤦. Is it acceptable to wear as an evening guest? I was thinking maybe bright pink/mustard heels to add some colour... I appreciate it's not to everyone's taste but please be kind.

Oh just seen evening guest - cancel the hat, then!

FredericaBimmel · 13/07/2019 18:05

Gorgeous! I agree with the bright shoes and bag, not sure about a belt or hat. I would also do bold lipstick and graphic eyeliner. Would look amazing.

onemorecakeplease · 13/07/2019 18:07

I'm with pinky - pjs! I am clearly in the minority tho!

purplelila2 · 13/07/2019 18:10

Nope I don't think it's suitable for a wedding it's far too casual even for the evening.
It's not classy

Alsohuman · 13/07/2019 18:13

Wtf is “classy” when it’s at home?

IncrediblySadToo · 13/07/2019 18:15

I’m only short I’d look like one if 101 dalmations in that! But if you can carry it off it’ll be fine, it won’t upstage the Bride! (The whole point of not wearing white)

22Giraffes · 13/07/2019 18:25

I think you'll look lovely, fuschia accessories would set it off nicely Smile

anon812 · 13/07/2019 18:31

I really like it, it depends on the bride of course but it doesn't look bridal at all so I would say go for it. Feel you with the weight gain. 17 weeks pregnant got quite a few weddings this summer and nothing to wear!!

Greyhound22 · 13/07/2019 18:47

It's absolutely fine for an evening do. Really lovely.

Crikey what kind of weddings do people go to if that's too casual for an evening disco.

purplelila2 · 13/07/2019 19:00

For the person asking what classy is = sophisticated..
what a stupid question

Alsohuman · 13/07/2019 19:04

It’s not a stupid question at all. It’s not a word I use and I imagine you’d get six different answers from six different people. I imagine it to mean that boring, unimaginative look that gets described as expensive in S&B.

Nicecupofcoco · 13/07/2019 19:06

Lovely op!

Bookworm4 · 13/07/2019 19:11

Classy I would take as smart, sophisticated the opposite being casual sloppy

bingbongnoise · 13/07/2019 19:13

@Somethingnothing you can wear what you like, but I think it's hideous sorry. Confused

F2Feee · 13/07/2019 19:16

Far too casual. Suitable for a concert at the oark not a wedding. Sorry but all I see is a dalmatian coming.

MsMightyTitanAndHerTroubadours · 13/07/2019 19:17

My first thought was jimjams too....it's not nearly smart enough for a wedding day imo. Just about okay for an evening party!

bingbongnoise · 13/07/2019 19:19

@F2Feee

Sorry but all I see is a dalmatian coming.

LOL! Grin THAT is what it reminded me of. THANK you!

Can I wear this black and white jumpsuit to a wedding?
wafflyversatile · 13/07/2019 19:19

A personal shopper in John Lewis has just got my friend to buy something similar for a wedding so yes, yes you can.

Pipandmum · 13/07/2019 19:20

It’s not white, it has a pattern. Looks a bit casual though.

Ravenesque · 13/07/2019 19:28

I think it's really off to say it's not "classy". It's simple and very much suitable for a wedding.

I think some of the people who are against it are focusing too much on the way it's worn by the model with trainers - which looks great - and not using their imagination enough. With accessories and "classy" Wink shoes/sandals it will look "classy" enough for most weddings.

One thing's for sure it's hard to look stylish, sophisticated, "classy" if you're wearing something you don't feel 100% comfortable in. OP is comfortable in that, it's simple but lovely, ergo CLASSY.

Somethingnothing · 13/07/2019 19:38

Thanks everyone, I appreciate the honesty. I've decided to go with it and got a few heels ordered in bright shades.

When I think of classy I think maybe something more traditional and fitted, but hey - we don't all feel comfortable dressed like that! I'm certainly not someone who dresses in a traditional way but I don't think it has to look inappropriate, with the right shoes, hair etc. - I won't be wearing trainers 😊.

It is rather casual so you will have to dress it up.

maddiemookins16mum · 13/07/2019 20:21

Yes, and yes to the mustard shoes 😊😊

Lllot5 · 13/07/2019 20:35

Not my cup of tea but I think it’s fine for a wedding. Nice colourful heels be fab.
