Wearing skimpy clothes at work event

NC for this since it maybe outing.

I'm lucky enough to go on a trip abroad paid by work as a thank you for working hard. Some of the ladies (20s if relevant) are wearing very skimpy clothing. Some of them might as well be naked Is this acceptable? It's a social trip but with colleagues.

Are they meeting clients? Representing the company? If not, they can wear whatever they want.

How is it outing?

Who cares let them wear what they want.

If it’s a relaxed social thing I don’t think it’s that big a deal. Assume you’re abroad somewhere warm too?

If it's meeting clients - not acceptable.
If it's a jolly - what ever !! At least you've not shown yourself up but make sure you chill and have a nice time. You'll look a boring otherwise.

I'm so glad you started this thread OP. The world today is sadly lacking in opportunities for women to talk about their experiences of wearing skimpy clothing with people like you who have no ulterior motive.

It's a social trip, they can wear whatever they like. It no ones business.

Are they wearing nipple tassles and a thong?

Are they supposed to lay by the pool in a pencil skirt and cardigan?

There's a whole spectrum of clothes between business wear and string thong bikini. I guess people are ok with seeing their colleagues nearly naked!

Is seeing a colleague nearly naked any different to seeing anyone else nearly naked? Surely if you're on holiday or by the pool and it's hot, you would expect people not wear less than they would to, say, a board meeting.
Do you now consider them to be less professional?

I have to go into a pool as part of my job, so all my colleagues have seen me in swimwear..what else would people wear in the water (assuming you are talking beach/pool).

I presume your workplace has provided a freebie beach type holiday to top performing staff, is that right? If so they probably want the young, better looking staff to be wearing skimpy clothes and having fun as it looks better on the photographs they’ll publish in the newsletter afterwards.
