Like if someone mentions something like say water bottles, the site then automatically creates a link to an MN article on the best water bottles to buy!

AIBU to be annoyed by it?!

OP posts:
OhYouBadBadKitten · 12/07/2019 22:40

It's the fact that it is totally out of our control that is wrong. Literally our very words are being overtly monetised.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 12/07/2019 22:43

Now I am conflicted, after arguing vehemently against voting I really need to say YANBU.

MsFanackerPants · 12/07/2019 22:43

I saw this on a thread before and assumed the OP was trying to drive traffic towards something she was flogging. That this appears to now be a mumsnet MO has irritated me more than an an ill fitting bra.
Or maybe old knickers. Or is it just things MM has swears by? Maybe Slow Cookers?

boredtodeathatwork · 12/07/2019 22:45

Where's the voting button gone?!

OP posts:
Persea · 12/07/2019 22:46

This and that stupid massive irritating advert after the Op’s first post is pissing me off immensely.

AhhhHereItGoes · 12/07/2019 22:51

CaptSkippy · 12/07/2019 22:53

Bloody tampon. Does that work?

AhhhHereItGoes · 12/07/2019 22:54

None.

Damn.

School shoes, anklets, tattooist near me, brand new tyres, hotel stays, suncream for kids

justasking111 · 12/07/2019 22:55

Was trousers for me tonight twice ggrr.. oh has stopped now trousers, trousers, trousers

HeronLanyon · 12/07/2019 23:02

I thought it had been done by the poster ! It’s really outrageous. Please get rid mn.

hettie · 12/07/2019 23:09

Fucking awful really really debasing the Mumsnet brand, have they let the intern take charge of the strategic vision. I cannot tell you how interfering and patronising it is to have the words I've just written turned into an inappropriate hyperlink. I just commented 'all mouth and no trousers' on a thread and it linked to Mumsnet recommends trousers.
Stop it Mumsnet HQ or there will be a mass flouncing

KatewithaH · 12/07/2019 23:09

Just seen on double buggy

BlessedBeTheFruitCake · 12/07/2019 23:11

It's very annoying. Thought they were proper links at first but nope.

Iwanttoredecorateagain · 12/07/2019 23:14

Trousers and water bottle and baby sling and bras and underwear and willies. Willy Willy vagina vibrator.

Nope and im on mobile browser.

RedForShort · 12/07/2019 23:14

Think piles might have run out in the other thread. It was in multitude there!!

We could try writing trousers and water bottles on this thread until they run out too!!

PickAChew · 12/07/2019 23:16

They did something similar a few years back and everyone hated it then.

Any articles on cuntflaps, I wonder?

BlackeyedGruesome · 12/07/2019 23:20

I got it when I wrote about jeans, from the charity shop for a boy. It linked to ladies jeans. link fail mn.

Alsohuman · 12/07/2019 23:23

Not only is it annoying but it’s fucking with real links. I just tried to look at a pair of trousers another poster linked to and got an error message.

Alsohuman · 12/07/2019 23:23

Fuck, please sort it MNHQ.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 12/07/2019 23:26

It's rather like Wallace and Grommits wrong trousers.

Diorissimo1985 · 12/07/2019 23:28

I hate this but mumsnet HQ will be prioritising it as its a source of revenue. Not what mumsnet is (or was) about.

These water bottles are great, they really work for for our family.

DD's trousers are fantastic, they wash really well.

Grin
SilverySurfer · 12/07/2019 23:34

So pleased to see the Tech Team are keeping busy with this shit. Obviously too much to ask them to fix Advanced Search which hasn't worked properly for the last eighteen months Hmm

BackforGood · 12/07/2019 23:41

YANBU at all.
It is very annoying.
It is all over the 'What shall I wear to the gym?' thread tonight.

BreconBeBuggered · 13/07/2019 00:14

I never wear trousers. But I do love a hot water bottle.

HeronLanyon · 13/07/2019 00:17

Trousers water bottles. I wonder if this only occurs on website ? I’m on iPhone and not getting the links here. Holiday. Cafetière. Yoga mat.
