Got me thinking! Grin

Which celebs do you think are on here?

OP posts:
Morticiaismystyleicon · 09/07/2019 22:31

I'm always baffled by these threads because if a celebrity is genuinely here because of the anonymity and hoping to go under radar because they want advice, like to comment among others in the same situation, or in the case of DoC because they want to have a space to fly under the radar they're not going to pop up on a thread like this and go 'Hi! Yes, I'm a celebrity! Imagine if me with my celebrityness posts on the same posts you do?! Exciting eh? I won't tell you who I am though, want to be anonymous!' Because 1. If they're using an anonymous site they probably don't want all their opinions/ questions plastered all over as we all know would happen and 2. They are usually savvy enough to know it'll be traced back to them- for example a quick AS on Humpty shows she's been married for 21 years as the first hit. Several down show that the 'One thing people don't believe' about her is that she's rich enough to live without working but she chooses to. Posters always pipe up that they're famous or that their DH's are but if you were and knew it could end up as gossip, on top of all the gossip and speculation that surrounds celebrities (even on this thread with posters asking whether she'd confirm if she'd been mentioned/ saying how exciting it'd be for a CELEBRITY to answer your post as opposed to a random)- would you do it? It's far, far more exciting for the celebrity spotters than it is for the celebrity to have all this speculation.

FancyACarrot · 09/07/2019 22:34

Humptydumptynoonoo has a 30yr old child, so can't be Holly

colourlessgreenidea · 09/07/2019 22:34

Isn't it funny to think that various people that are in the public eye could be the person that replies to your random post!

Why? People in the public eye are just ordinary people who happen to have a job that the media makes a fuss about.

To me, it’s more weird to think that I could be interacting with my best friend, my SIL, my next-door neighbour, etc., with neither of us knowing. ‘Famous’ random internet strangers are still just random internet strangers.

JazzyGG · 09/07/2019 22:46

I reckon Sharron Davies frequents Feminist Chat ;) not so sure on Kerry Katona!

Whatafustercluck · 09/07/2019 22:46

Cheryl is on here. She's replied to a similar thread before.

This
I’m more bothered by my DSIS and SIL than a stranger who may or may not be a “celeb”

The way social media is now, you interact more with celebs than you ever used to. On insta, many interact with fans on a regular basis both in public and private DM. They’re normal people to me.

jonesy22 · 09/07/2019 23:00

@Whatafustercluck really? What did she say?

Whatafustercluck · 09/07/2019 23:03

I can't actually remember but someone told her that her username was a bit of a give away. She thanked them and, I assume, changed it.

Rivkka · 09/07/2019 23:06

One of the Sclub girls is on here, and jools Oliver. Jamie always gets a right slating which makes me cringe.

Jo Whiley and Davina are on too.

MsMD · 09/07/2019 23:06

My real name is sometimes in Greys Anatomy credits because I help them with medical scenarios and terminology sometimes.

I'm pretend famous Grin

colourlessgreenidea · 09/07/2019 23:06

Cheryl is on here. She's replied to a similar thread before.

Anyone can say anything or claim to be anyone online. How was it proven that it genuinely was her, and not someone having fun with a fib?

BictoriaVeckham · 09/07/2019 23:10

I’m here Wink
Or am I 🤷🏼‍♀️

Theworldcouldbemymollusc · 09/07/2019 23:10

Ha - when AF was suggested as Mrs Wales I laughed and thought more likely Jo Brand. Penis Beaker was such a legend. That and noni massage/Brian from Hull. Don’t think KP would stick around much. I would like to get advice from Olivia Coleman, Keeley Hawes and Suranne Jones so ladies do step up as I’ve just left an abusive arse of a husband!!

Whatafustercluck · 09/07/2019 23:11

I remember what ot was now, it was when everyone knew/ suspected she was pregnant with Bear, but she hadn't actually 'come out' as such. The thread wasn't about that, or her specifically, but something that was said caused someone to put two and two together, congratulate her and suggest she change her username. I think the posts were later reported and subsequently removed.

OhioOhioOhio · 09/07/2019 23:12

All of them. We all are.

colourlessgreenidea · 09/07/2019 23:12

I’m here wink
Or am I

Well Bictoria, your username is a bit of a giveaway - verified proof indeed!

BananasAreTheSourceOfEvil · 09/07/2019 23:13

@colourlessgreenidea IRL people freaks me out more than celebrities too if Im honest. Every time I see a post about a dog barking I hold my breath and hope its not about mine Grin

colourlessgreenidea · 09/07/2019 23:18

I still don’t get how any of that proved that ‘Cheryl’ was posting, rather than any other one of hundreds of other women who were pregnant at that time, or someone having a bit of fun by seeing what they could troll people into believing.

RaymondReddington · 09/07/2019 23:20

Well I am the actual Raymond Reddington. Liz is on the deck with a glass of 1998 merlot Wink

The truth is, you’ll never know who you’re talking to. You could be interacting with you NDN or a footballers wife (there is one on here, she did a AMA thread) People will never admit and I guess that’s a good thing for them. They’re normal and have family/friend/husband/work/parenting issue as do we all

GrapefruitIsGross · 09/07/2019 23:21

Graham Linehan is on Feminism Chat occasionally- he’s not incognito though.

I’d say JK Rowling and Sharron Davies are lurkers...

Whatafustercluck · 09/07/2019 23:27

Meh. You'll never get proof and I don't have any. This is a speculative thread, it rang true at the time - nobody actually said "you're Cheryl aren't you?" and she never said "I'm Cheryl", just suggested the username included information that was Google-able. Incidentally though, there have been quite a few threads about her and you can hear her voice in some of the replies. But now I'm going to back away and say no more - I sound like some weird Cheryl stalker. I'm not even a fan! Don't particularly dislike her either though.

TheHandsOfNeilBuchanan · 09/07/2019 23:28

Given all of the listed confirmed celebrity MNers are there many left who are not famous? It would explain the skew towards higher than average earnings and a London lifestyle.

MargotsFlounceyBlouse · 09/07/2019 23:36

I can't keep up with today's celebrities so unless Angela Rippon or Bob Carolgees were openly posting I'd be none the wiser.

CurlyhairedAssassin · 09/07/2019 23:37

That’s as maybe but it’s not about whether people are star struck or would treat them differently on a thread if they knew who they were. They just don’t want everyone to know their piles are giving them grief or that they’ve found out their DH shagged the nanny, do they? As long as they remain anonymous they can come on here for advice just like any non-celebrity.

No-one will ever admit to being well known on a thread like this. It’s too risky for them.

Heaviestdirtyestsoul · 09/07/2019 23:37

Oh I love Jo Brand, Hope she is!
