To think there is a grave in my garden?

NC for this as the pics are outing.

Moved in to my house in April and it has what I thought is a really ugly raised bed in the garden. Now the summer has arrived I've realised it gets no sunshine on it at all so isn't a raised bed after all.

DD and I were pottering our there this afternoon and we came across this plaque on the raised bed.

WTF.

Is it a coincidence or is it a grave?!

Also placemarking hides ghoulishly

summerofladybird · 09/07/2019 22:03

At cemeteries you have to pay for the plaque and so on to be there so perhaps they did what some people do and put it in the their garden

nespressowoo · 09/07/2019 22:03

Oh gosh I'd be out there digging until I knew! I can't believe it's legal to bury someone in your garden!

Fluffybread · 09/07/2019 22:04

@IsItATomb if you're wanting previous pics of the house, try looking on Zoopla. If it's been up for sale and listed on Zoopla previously you can view old listings. Long shot though, not sure if it's something an estate agent would photograph!

Wheresthebeach · 09/07/2019 22:05

The last thing I'd do is dig! Arghhhhhhh

AndBreatheJustBreathe · 09/07/2019 22:05

Nope nope.

You shouldn’t be allowed to bury dead people in your garden. That should not be a thing.

IsItATomb · 09/07/2019 22:09

I've just remembered that just after we got the keys DD said that there is a man who lives in our house called Harold and he has a dog.

I'll be asking the neighbours if they know anything.

The plot thickens...

I've looked on Zoopla. The only pics that are in there are the ones from when I brought it. It's not listed as being for sale before I brought it.

It's very possible that she was the only owner before me, I believe the house was built in the 80s

Now that’s a good update OP

When will excavation be starting?

Downunderduchess · 09/07/2019 22:12

Perhaps a little memorial for a loved pet, cat or dog etc. I referred to my pets as my boys.

PettyPois · 09/07/2019 22:13

I told you. I know films that have ghost men and ghost dogs in too. THICKENING.

MitziK · 09/07/2019 22:14

If the plot is thickening, doesn't that mean something is on his way up and out? Shock Shock Shock

KeepFuckingOff · 09/07/2019 22:14

Perhaps it’s so big because there’s more than one dead body?

IsItATomb · 09/07/2019 22:14

I'll mention to DD about this Harold and see what she says.

She doesn't know what the plaque says I didn't explain what it is to her because she's only 3 and is asking a lot about death lately (her goldfish has recently departed)

Move house. Tomorrow. Not worth the risk

Mumofboys95 · 09/07/2019 22:16

I'd be outside digging if that was my garden. I need to know the outcome of this I'm so intrigued

PettyPois · 09/07/2019 22:17

@MitziK I think you're on to something. OP needs garlic, silver gussets and Holy water...

IsItATomb · 09/07/2019 22:17

I'm going to make a start tomorrow when DD is at nursery.

OP posts:
Shambu · 09/07/2019 22:17

I'd have started digging already.

PettyPois · 09/07/2019 22:18

WTF why did bullets get changed to gussets? What did I type to get that?!

Shambu · 09/07/2019 22:18

Snap OP. Good work.

Paddy1234 · 09/07/2019 22:20

Unashamedly place marking ❤️

Rumboogie · 09/07/2019 22:20

I also think it's incredibly sad

Babadouche · 09/07/2019 22:21

What happened with the other thread with the woman who found a skull in her garden?

I did know you could bury people at home but thought you had to agree to live there for a certain amount of time? Like you couldn’t bury your DH in a six month tenancy house!

VictoriaBun · 09/07/2019 22:22

We dug up a large dogs skeleton in our garden
