My neighbor is having a party, that's fine it's 7pm it's summer, I'm happy for them (wish I was at one truth be told). My baby can't put himself to sleep because the base on their reggae music is shaking the house. It's not even the noise it's the vibrations.
Would I have a leg to stand on to ask them very nicely if they could lower the base for even half an hour so he can put himself to sleep?
It's literally shaking my walls.

He is now asleep. That's usually him down until 2am so I just hope they are gone by then- or at lease don't wake him up with any sudden noise (I.e fireworks on a bright July evening)

That’s really shitty of them Angry.

The police no longer get involved in noise disturbances in my county they just tell you to go to the council.

Imupallnightto · 06/07/2019 20:58

Oh god @Alicesweewonders

I actually don't know what's worse.

Oh I would never call the police out for this. We will all survive it just one of them things.

Friend of mine sneaked over to her neighbour's house and sellotaped down the doorbell at six in the morning after a particularly loud and late party.

ChippingInLowCarbing · 06/07/2019 21:03

If they wake him
Up take him around hand him over and say this is now your problem

(Obviously don’t actually leave him but allow them to think you will)

Thoughtless wankers.

theunrivalledjoysofparenting · 06/07/2019 21:05

I don’t think music that’s shaking your house is ever acceptable, tbh. There’s no time that would be ok for neighbours. Selfish tossers. Hope your ds gets to sleep...

HiItsClemFandango · 06/07/2019 21:06

They sound like wankers, our neighbours have been having a loud bassy party since about 2pm and it's slowly getting louder

catinboots99 · 06/07/2019 21:07

You're being precious

Imupallnightto · 06/07/2019 21:07

@BlamesFartsOnTheNeighbour

I'm sorry but that is hilarious

OP posts:
fascinated · 06/07/2019 21:09

Not precious. They are bastards.

Imupallnightto · 06/07/2019 21:10

@catinboots99

Thanks for your opinion.

It's only for my child's sake that I have asked for a 30 minute reprieve. It's over now anyway.

DontBiteTheBoobThatFeedsYou · 06/07/2019 21:11

They have only just moved in?

This won't be the only party they have.
I had neighbours like this. Selfish fucking arseholes.

Yutes · 06/07/2019 21:12

Aww imupall they’ve behaved really badly on this occasion.

I never normally reply to threads like this but I had really awful neighbours so i feel your pain.
Maybe start cutting your grass and knocking on their door from 6 am.

Really shitty that they said no problem to turn it down for 20 mins and they just turned it up.
You don’t need to go out of your way to be nasty to them but you don’t need to help them either - no parcels taken, or wrong mail. Park wherever etc
Rotten

HiItsClemFandango · 06/07/2019 21:14

My neighbour has now started singing Baby Shark on the microphone, not even kidding

Imupallnightto · 06/07/2019 21:17

@HiItsClemFandango

Haha you are kidding! Who on earth needs baby shark at 9pm

Sandybval · 06/07/2019 21:17

I get loud music in nightclubs, but for a house party no idea why it needs to be so loud. I guess this is me getting officially old and boring Grin glad it's stopped now.

BuildBuildings · 06/07/2019 21:19

They sound really awful actually. I think this doesn't seem to be the accepted opinion but I don't think you are entitled to have lod parties in your own home. Even if it's a one off. We all have to live together is streets and you shouldn't be doing stuff that effects your neighbours this much. Yanbu or precious.

Dontcallmeprecious · 06/07/2019 21:25

You have solidarity on here. You have the right attitude. Not much you can do but hope they finish soon.

Imupallnightto · 06/07/2019 21:31

Thanks @Dontcallmeprecious

Love the username lol!

OP posts:
bingbongnoise · 06/07/2019 21:33

YANBU, but I would not like to have to ask. Blush

shiveringtimber · 06/07/2019 21:35

I would have been tempted to crash the party with crying baby.

DontFundHate · 06/07/2019 21:38

Hope you both get some sleep soon

Dontcallmeprecious · 06/07/2019 21:45

It was my username from before but very apt. Really hope you get some sleep 💤 and your baby stays fast asleep 😴

GrumpyMiddleAgedWoman · 06/07/2019 21:48

Totally with you. It's just not fair on everyone else. Loud noises are really intrusive.
