Sounds ok I think

GoFiguire · 05/07/2019 22:25

You’re going to sell the school for £3?

Ambydex · 05/07/2019 22:26

Depends greatly on the school. I don't think you'd sell much at that here - it would be £9 for me and both kids. Cakes are 50p to £1.

Chilledout11 · 05/07/2019 22:27

I think I would go for £2

PersonaNonGarter · 05/07/2019 22:28

Portion size being a paper bowl and, like, 8 strawberries? Seems quite steep. Family of four: £12. Might not be much left over to spend on the tombola.

Chilledout11 · 05/07/2019 22:29

I think they would be lovely though.

blackteasplease · 05/07/2019 22:29

I think £2 would be ok at our school.

DuchessSybilVimes · 05/07/2019 22:31

I wouldn't normally point this out, but since it will be at a school, please spell it strawberries and cream!

Also yes, we need way more context. Type of school / area, size of portion.

Hermagsjesty · 05/07/2019 22:34

Cakes and tuck are always 50p - £1 at our school. I reckon £2 tops but I’m sure it depends from school to school.

skankingpiglet · 05/07/2019 22:35

DD's school is a village primary with a mix of parents. I'd say £2 a bowl, although it would still struggle against £3 for a BBQ burger or sausage in roll, 80p - £1/ice cream, cakes 25p - £1.

Barbie222 · 05/07/2019 22:35

Squirty cream? 3 or 4 strawberries in a bowl? I wouldn't pay 3 quid for that. Maybe include a shortbread for that money? Ice creams sell for about £2 and they are a lot more to eat if you see what I mean.

EskewedBeef · 05/07/2019 22:37

£2 maximum. It's £2.50 for strawberries and cream at Wimbledon.

damppatchnot · 05/07/2019 22:46

Ha ha strawberries (rushing about)
Affluent area
PTA make 5k at summer fair.

OP posts:
Lifeover · 05/07/2019 22:49

I’d go £1.00. Were in an affluent area, pizza and chips £1.50 at school fayre.

VenusClapTrap · 05/07/2019 22:52

Real cream or squirty shite?

EskewedBeef · 05/07/2019 22:54

How much is each portion costing to produce, including the bowl/cup and spoon?

Hairyheadphones · 05/07/2019 22:57

Our school make about 7k at the summer fete. Cakes cost £1 for 3, I would imagine strawberries and cream to be £1.50 max.

22Giraffes · 05/07/2019 22:58

I'd say £2 would sit about right

Spinnaret · 05/07/2019 22:59

I came to say what EskewedBeef said. If it is only £2.50 at Wimbledon, you can't charge more, unless you are offering a generous punnetful. I doubt I would pay more than £1.50.

damppatchnot · 05/07/2019 22:59

I think I will leave
By the time I have bought the strawberries, cream, dishes and spoons, there would be no profit at 1.50 a portion !

Snappedandfarted2019 · 05/07/2019 23:03

Sorry I wouldn't pay even pay £1.50 for cream and strawberries nm £3 and I've organised alot of fundraisers. You would be better with creamed scones and tea.

BikeRunSki · 05/07/2019 23:03

Our school sold a paper cup of strawberries -about 4 or 5 cut up - with cream poured over for £2. Not particularly affluent area. The PTFA PYO’ed the strawberries.

DropZoneOne · 05/07/2019 23:04

Work out the cost per portion, then double it and round up to nearest 50p to get your selling price. That's what we do with all our food/drink at pta events. Reasonable value, hardly any wastage, worthwhile profit.

Ellmau · 05/07/2019 23:04

Smaller portions.

CherryPlum · 05/07/2019 23:07

£2
