Anyone else in same boat?

Post school drop off sometimes I just love to come back, turn on gutter TV and eat my body weight in hummus and Doritos, followed by large pot of Greek yogurt and nuts and honey.

Utterly stuffed

It just so delicious and indulgent

Anyone else??

We had a birthday party yesterday so we have enough food left to sink a small ship! I'll be doing the same thing once I get back from an appointment

Lets ignore the fact that the kitchen looks like a bomb has gone off......

TheRealShatParp · 01/07/2019 09:33

Not at that stage yet as daughter is not yet at school, but I’m quite looking forward to it!

NoSauce · 01/07/2019 09:35

Haha too early for hummus Grin
I do love coming back to the peace and quiet though. Cup of tea and toast for me.

YumyumAndyum · 01/07/2019 09:35

So much to do by way of housework, garden, admin

But I’m head first in a tube of Pringles

One of my favourite things to do! Or nip up to maccies, get a sausage bagel and a greasy hash brown then chill in peace for an hour or so after a hectic weekend!

FlowerTink · 01/07/2019 09:40

Yes! The instant I get in!

Just ignoring the housework for a bit while I catch up on TV and eat

jputthekettleon · 01/07/2019 09:41

I have an 19 month old and overdue baby no 2. I am really uncomfortable and in the latent labour stage on and off. I have the worse acid so can barely eat. This all sounds amazing I cannot wait until mine are both in school only another 4 years or so 😂😂😂

WhereDoesThisToiletGo · 01/07/2019 09:44

I couldn't eat hummus and doritos early in the morning.
But yes to the Greek yoghurt

YumyumAndyum · 01/07/2019 09:48

Enjoy all!

Or head to coffee shop for a bacon and cream cheese bagel and eat in butter silence

Mumofone1858 · 01/07/2019 09:54

I work evenings so I have my 18 month old in the day and I dream of when he goes school and I can do this! We agreed I would swap to day shifts when he's at school but 100 percent I want at least a few weeks on my own... I might even light the BBQ and burn everything Bing related GrinWine

SlenderMansKnickers · 01/07/2019 09:54

SilverySurfer

Are you the old judgey snider comment making fucker I read about on here or is that another snidey judgey fucker?

lilpumpsmum · 01/07/2019 10:00

Silverysurfer

Nah I'm a different mum.

Personally, I like to come home then nap before I dive into the junk. But yes, I'll be catching up on love island in a bit Grin

sleepylittlebunnies · 01/07/2019 10:02

I think they must be different SAHMs silverysurfer. Sensible SAHMs make the most of the opportunity to chill when the mood takes us. And Monday morning after school drop off is the best time to laze on the sofa with a cuppa, food and crap TV while Mumsnetting Smile

sleepylittlebunnies · 01/07/2019 10:06

Oh and I’m not even a SAHM, I work nights as a nurse so am often completely exhausted. But even after a 12.5 hour night shift followed by getting 3 kids to school on foot, I still manage to stay awake for an hour to take in the peace and quiet before dragging my aching body to bed.

EchidnasPhone · 01/07/2019 10:10

Love it! I love dropping kids off getting a big milky coffee and 2 very buttery crumpets and watching trash tv for an hour. It’s not all cake and coffee but sometimes it should be and I don’t feel an ounce of guilt 😊

jarofheart · 01/07/2019 10:12

Oh maaan! This is why I want to be a SAHM but finances don't allow! I'm very jealous, enjoy

alittleprivacy · 01/07/2019 10:12

I've just finished life as an SAHM to a school going child and my favourite thing to do when DS was in school was to put on my skates and go for a long, long skate by the river. Sometimes alone, sometimes with a friend. I'd happily do 20km+ come home for a shower, throw together a smoothie and drink it from my travel cup on the way to collect him. I'll miss that terribly when I'm working.

Proseccoinamug · 01/07/2019 10:13

I wondered how long that would take, silverysurfer

Proseccoinamug · 01/07/2019 10:14

Well, I often am on the go all day but I am certainly on the go the second the kids get home. So I don’t feel at all guilty about an hour of me time after drop off every so often. Today, I have gone back to bed with a cup of tea and biscuits. So shoot me!

PantsyMcPantsface · 01/07/2019 10:17

I'm disciplined and get the washing out to dry (it's usually been on as I've gone out) and dishwasher sorted etc before I sit down... otherwise I know from bitter experience that time runs away with me and suddenly it's time to go back out again and I've got fuck all done.

INSET day here today.

Onescaredmuma · 01/07/2019 10:40

I'm soooo jealous! Saying that my lovely in laws are visiting so have taken my 2 younger DCs on the school run then taken them out I've just finished cleaning upstairs and sitting with a cuppa before I start downstairs. I can't remember the last time I had a house to myself it's a bit strange and creepy. Normally if my house is this quite it's time to be afraid of what my little monsters are up toGrin

Pinkfinkle · 01/07/2019 11:03

I usually work FT but currently on mat leave. Baby has a fair few naps still during the day so while he is napping and the other three are at school I soooo do this Grin.

ChicCroissant · 01/07/2019 11:07

I can't have Pringles in the house otherwise I inhale the tube!

Agree with fresh coffee after drop off though, especially on a Monday morning after a hectic weekend.
