Wondered how many posts it would take before it became the nasty Tories fault. Let’s just vote Labour then the whole country will be filled with sunshine and butterflies.
Surely decent people don’t commit crimes irrespective of how many police are on the street?

echt · 30/06/2019 07:27

Stop using the tragic death of a young person as an excuse to froth. It's really crass

YY I thought this thread might be serious discussion about what's happening across the country.

Fucking clickbait.

Unfinishedkitchen · 30/06/2019 07:46

Although I don’t know anymore than what has been reported about this case, I don’t think it has anything to do with the general knife issue or London. I would bet that the murderer is the babies father and this was the tragic end of longterm domestic violence.

Poor woman and child.

Diamondeye · 30/06/2019 07:47

Guess you never heard of Dynel Lane?

Get a grip OP. Stop using this tragedy to link it with knife gang culture.

Unfinishedkitchen · 30/06/2019 07:48

And I forgot to add that this thread is in very poor taste if this poor woman’s death is being used for political purposes or to bash a geographic location.

Bixter · 30/06/2019 07:51

@Bourbonbiccy It's along term problem and one that will not be solved any time soon. Our laws have become too lax, people have no respect for one another, there is a greater divide between the haves and have nots, people have lost direction.

OP posts:
mindproject · 30/06/2019 07:54

The world over it seems to be what is wrong with men? Most violence is perpetrated by men. Most other crime is also committed by men. Unless you start asking the right questions, you're never going to find solutions.

The UK is not more violent than most other countries.

Bixter · 30/06/2019 07:55

The crux of the matter is how bad people are these days.

OP posts:
mindproject · 30/06/2019 07:57

The UK is very unequal and we need to do something about it, but I doubt that is the usual cause of violence.

mindproject · 30/06/2019 07:57

You men how bad men are, not how bad people are. Please don't lump women in.

Bixter · 30/06/2019 07:58

So much violence, so much lack of respect.

OP posts:
mindproject · 30/06/2019 07:58

You mean

feathermucker · 30/06/2019 07:58

onalongsabbatical has it spot on.

Clickbait.

mindproject · 30/06/2019 07:58

What are your solutions Bixter? How do we prevent male violence?

HillRunner · 30/06/2019 07:59

The reporting indicates that this is highly likely to be domestic violence. She was stabbed in her home, and the police aren't looking for anyone else in connection with the crime.

Domestic violence is horrific, but is not limited to London, or to the UK, or to any particular group of people. And it isn't linked to the other types of knife crime that are currently on the increase.

floraloctopus · 30/06/2019 08:00

It's all about what is wrong with individuals who are violent to women and children, there was another tragic case in Derbyshire.

mindproject · 30/06/2019 08:01

What are the solutions for preventing domestic violence?

SquirmOfEels · 30/06/2019 08:04

It also shows some things that are very right

  • the emergency responders who saved the baby and the HCPs who continue to tend to him/her (in intensive care).
  • the general public, who are shocked and revolted
  • the police, who have already made an arrest, and idc the prosecutors who will .bring this to trial, and a judicial system which should mean a fair trial with accused being able to bring forward a defence

Yes, some crimes are very shocking. We don't know yet how this came about, so cannot say what, if anything, it is emblematic of.

Danglingmod · 30/06/2019 08:04

"Our laws have become too lax"?

Which specific laws have changed recently that are part of the reason for this tragic case, or indeed any other violent crime!

maddiemookins16mum · 30/06/2019 08:07

Poor woman. But this could have (sadly) happened in New York, Toronto, Berlin.....etc etc. It sounds more like a horrendous dv incident.

EngTech · 30/06/2019 08:16

Thoughts are with her family and the child in hospital.

Sadly, this will become another statistic, one of the many problems at the moment in the U.K.

Domestic violence is world wide, not just U.K. though.

How to stop it?

Come the GE vote for the party who say they will crack down on it?

Sort out the root cause of the problem would be a good start but that would take money and may need a tax rise to fund it?

That is when people moan and groan because they pay enough tax at present.

No win situation 😡

pallasathena · 30/06/2019 08:26

There's a whiff of defeatism in so many of the posts on this thread. Why?
Call it out people.

NaughtToThreeSadOnions · 30/06/2019 08:31

Only replying to one person now op?
The one that agrees qith you.

allibaby · 30/06/2019 08:39

No words except to say this makes me feel so sad.

I don't live anywhere near London but the level of violent crimes in my town over the past few years is scary.

Namechanged2012 · 30/06/2019 08:39

And we're off!!!! Wondered how long before the stupid get involved with irrational debate 😂😂
you bloody men. The world would be crime free without you coming here and ruining it for all us perfect women 😇😇😇😇😇😇😇😇damn you men !!!!!
