about men on Tinder? I've been on it for about six months and I'm pretty quick to dismiss most men on there, sometimes on their profile, sometimes when I've spoken to them. Would you also swipe left for the following?

  1. Giving the finger in a photo (too aggressive)
  2. Sticking tongue out in a photo (too childish)
  3. Hardly any text (too lazy)
  4. Saying 'no psycho bitches'' (I may well be a psycho bitch, but I swipe left on this because its so negative about women - we're psycho bitches because men are fucking arseholes to us)
  5. Holding a fish (that has to be some kind of freudian phalus thing?)
  6. Anything smutty in the text (don't disrespect me before you've even met me)
  7. Photos from the angle of being shot up the nose (do men have NO idea how makes them look?)
  8. More photos of their car than of them (they clearly aren't packing much and they're sensitive about it)
  9. When their age is 48 and they're clearly not a day under 63
10. When they tell me they ride (I have a horse, they're clearly trying to impress when they've actually only ridden once, when they were 12 and hated it)

AIBTU? I suspect I'm probably still in love with a man I dated at the beginning of this Tinder lark, and no one is going to come close.... Fucking nuisance!

I'm being tongue in cheek by the way....

Maybe they're just being honest?

Nothingsuitsmelikeasuit · 29/06/2019 19:21

Yanbu! I’ve only ever known one man who fished in real life but on online dating it seems they all do it!

Far2go46 · 29/06/2019 19:22

If they're on tinder hopefully they don't have a partner

SleepingStandingUp · 29/06/2019 19:23

Maybe they're just being honest? well you'd hope so. Hence why swiping no is appropriate cos if the sexual innuendo, swearing, cars, fish etc aren't for you, thats fine

TildaTurnip · 29/06/2019 19:25

YANBU to swipe how you like bit YABU for this comment belittling men for something out of their control:
they clearly aren't packing much and they're sensitive about it

labazsisgoingmad · 29/06/2019 19:27

photos taken in public toilets or bathrooms into a mirror yuk they all do it

ReturnofSaturn · 29/06/2019 19:28

I would swipe left for all those too.

Lemonyfuckit · 29/06/2019 19:30

Pretty much all of the things you've all said were a definite no from me. I used to roll my eyes and feel exasperated every time my (smug married) friend told me it was 'a numbers game'......but, I persevered. There were a lot of frogs, some guys I dated for 1-3 months who seemed nice, until they 'ghosted' me instead if just saying they weren't looking for a relationship (why, why do they do this? They're not so bloody amazing that we'll be heartbroken that it's not going to work out after anywhere between a few dates to a couple of months - we're fully functioning adults and we'll definitely be fine! Grin). And then there was....my now fiancé. We got engaged a couple of months ago (after 3.5 years together). Amongst all the idiots, there are some gems.

Hecateh · 29/06/2019 19:33

And those that say 'know how to treat a lady' or 'you won't be disappointed

Mythreefavouritethings · 29/06/2019 19:40

I wouldn’t have my need a ‘Hello, sexy/beautiful’, in an awkward Rodney Trotter sort of way. It’s that old school fake bravado when men couldn’t hide behind a screen. Quite endearing in some men, mildly comical in others.

Mythreefavouritethings · 29/06/2019 19:40

Minded! Every time on this thing!

BoudiccaKate · 29/06/2019 19:43

@Lemonyfuckit there's hope! 😁

BoudiccaKate · 29/06/2019 19:44

Oh yes 'you won't be disappointed'. I already am, you neanderthal twat

OP posts:
BoudiccaKate · 29/06/2019 19:46

@TildaTurnip if they can't control feeling bad about having a tiny penis, its not my job to make them feel better about it.

OP posts:
CrazyToast · 29/06/2019 19:47

Lol no that would put me off too.

What about the ones who are clearly with their gf or DP cos the photos were pulled through from facebook?

And the ones posing with a dog cos the tinder 'make your profile' advice suggests it might make them look approachable? Actually that's kind of sweet I guess.

BoudiccaKate · 29/06/2019 19:50

Yeah dogs are good. Exdp with scribbled out face Hmm

Posing with a red rose in his mouth and wearing boxing gloves. I'll never forget that one. The guy with the chicken in a basket was hilarious though. So random.

Pints of beer in hand in the pub.
Group shots but no individual shots - which one are you?!
Wearing women's shoes in the photo
Saying they love to make love Envy
Profile pictures taken with their kids-big safeguarding and boundaries thing to me.
Not smiling but instead trying to look well 'ard especially if Topless with lots of tattoos.
Lads holiday photos (still a teenager mentally and emotionally)
Cigarettes hanging from their mouths

Grumpos · 29/06/2019 20:17

Car selfies.... maybe one is ok as I think we’ve all done it? But more than one, no.
In fact all photos being selfies - none of them with friends Confused
Bed selfies - when they’re laid down, mostly without a shirt. Honestly makes me bork.
Putting ‘lol’ after every msg - “morning lol”, “how was your day lol” WHAT YA LAUGHING AT FFS

(I actually met my partner online - my one and only date. Very, very lucky)

Chunkers · 29/06/2019 20:27

I have learned from other threads on MN that you are also best to avoid blokes that show signs of participating in cycling.

BertieBotts · 29/06/2019 20:33

Signs of participating in cycling :o

YANBU you need to be picky FGS, just look at the stats about how unhappy women are when we are married. Sounds like a risky business where it pays to be discriminating.

BoudiccaKate · 29/06/2019 20:40

Oh fuck. Cycling. But THEY ALL CYCLE. Or, as I like to call it, bicycling. Which seems to annoy them a bit

Sexnotgender · 29/06/2019 20:45

YANBU. There’s some absolute belters on OLD.

Man in tracksuit in Asda was quite memorable, that’s your best photo?

I met my husband OLD so I’m quite a fan!

Knackeredmommy · 29/06/2019 20:50

I don't mind if they don't have much text. I swipe left for anyone with children in their profile pics. I have nothing against children by the way! But why put them on your tinder, even worse when their bio says, "that's my neice/nephew".

Manclife1 · 29/06/2019 21:36

Sounds like there’s hundreds of men dodging bullets. Keep up the good work!

DtPeabodysLoosePants · 29/06/2019 21:53

And why is that @Manclife1?
