To be horrified the NHS classes 5yo DD as overweight?

DD (5) had her school night and weight check at school earlier in the week. Received a letter today saying that she is on the 94th percentile and classes as overweight for her age and height.

Im horrified! She doesn’t look overweight, does gymnastics and swimming each week, doesn’t over eat, treats are limited and I cook healthy meals from scratch most days. What the hell am I doing wrong???

Just rechecked DS, he is actually 75 - because today he was 2lbs lighter than yesterday. Probably did a poo 😂

@Sirzy"M and S is by far the best for school uniform for slim children"

Have you tried Morrisons? I got some from there for my slim ds and they are a really nice fit and I think cheaper than m&s.

The joy of m&s is the different leg lengths...you don't have to size up to accommodate long legs etc.

RainOrSun · 04/07/2019 14:09

The joy of M&S long legs is you can size down to keep the waists not as large!
10 yr old here, in age 8 extra long trousers with waists pulled in tight, but age 6 shorts....

Oh I hope M&S girls skirts are as good. I normally get her pinafores but she wants skirts this time.

She still wears her age 5 skirt from Reception.

Now bought some 8-9 skirts from M&S and hope they don’t fall down! Her other skirt from Waitrose does and I think it will be a few years before that will fit!!
