To ask if these shoes go with this dress for a wedding

I have posted in Chat but got no responses.

If you don't like the shoes or the dress, please try to remember that this isn't the question I am asking :) (as per previous question about a jacket lol)

Thank you for taking the time to help!

Vote YABU for no they do not go
YANBU for " yes they go!"

I would match with a white bag.

I am not a girly girl at all and don't own any dresses really and don't have much money or time to find another pair of shoes :(

A white bag would be awful. If the shoes matched the base colour of the dress and you chose a bag to pick out one of the other colours on the dress it would not look mismatched at all. The shoes being the same colour as the dress would provide a long lean line and the bag would add a subtle and stylish contrast. If you are determined to go with the white shoes then pick a bag the base colour of the dress.

I think they're great. No idea why anyone has an issue with them (in that there's nothing wrong with them, though they may not be everyone's choice). Certainly don't shell out more money on something else.

SolsticeBabyMaybe · 27/06/2019 12:24

Yes they go. With light accessories..dark shoes and dark dress would be too wintery imho, light shoes gives it a summery lift.

SolsticeBabyMaybe · 27/06/2019 12:26

Personally I think white bag would be best as dark clutch with dark dress and white shoes would make the shoes look like a random afterthought

HalfDeadHousePlant · 27/06/2019 12:27

Seriously - they're fine! It's not like you're going to the New Season Launch Dinner at Anna Wintour's Tuscany mansion Grin
Just wear them - nobody's going to be looking at your shoes.

SolsticeBabyMaybe · 27/06/2019 12:30

Just saw you got a teal clutch. Yes that will look nice.

LaurieMarlow · 27/06/2019 12:30

I’d go with a pink/turquoise bag. I’m not a fan of white bags and dark wouldn’t work.

LaurieMarlow · 27/06/2019 12:31

Yes teal is perfect

Jarjarblinks · 27/06/2019 12:32

Of course they go together! There is white in the pattern. Someone said they are too contrasty. Eh?! Since when does contrast mean something doesn't go together?

OP, AIBU may not be the best place for this as people tend to go against the OP for whatever reason. Try style and beauty.

sadeyedladyofthelowlandsea · 27/06/2019 12:32

Nothing wrong with either, but I don't think they go together - could you buy some shoe dye instead, to turn them into a more neutral colour?

Nottobesoldseparately · 27/06/2019 12:34

To late to the party, but you are right.
Matching shoes and bag is what you need.

A teal clutch is totally wrong, you would have been better with white.

And as it's a maxi dress I would have gone for a white straw hat and white straw bag.
However I can carry that look off with ease.

Fashion is subjective, as this thread proves. Wear what you feel happy in and comfortable in.

None of us are right, none of us are wrong.

EarlGreyOfTwinings · 27/06/2019 12:35

I am not wild about the shoes, but they're fine! Of course you don't need to buy a new pair just for a wedding.

I'd go for a black bag.

With black shoes, I would have gone for a pink or blue bag in the right tone to match the dress.

NiceLegsShameAboutTheFace · 27/06/2019 12:36

They look fab. Enjoy Smile

bellabasset · 27/06/2019 12:39

I don't like white shoes, probably because we had them as children and we always had to keep them clean. So I wouldn't go out and buy them, but if I already had them I would wear them.

Parkinssheet · 27/06/2019 12:55

The shoes are absolutely fine with the dress, but find a bag in one of the other colours in the dress. White shoes and bag are too matchy. Enjoy the wedding,

user1471592953 · 27/06/2019 12:55

Buy a pair in gunmetal/pewter - they go with everything!

areyoureallysaying · 27/06/2019 13:01

never match shoes and bags
Shoes are fine I think a pale pink or nude would look better but you said they would be mainly covered so why spend the extra money of you havent got it

Idontwanttotalk · 27/06/2019 14:31

They are fine and the teal clutch sounds fine too.

I agree that you shouldn't match shoes and bag. That is a bit 'old hat' these days.

ElizaPancakes · 27/06/2019 14:36

They’re totally fine.

I’ve just been to a wedding, I can 100% guarantee you that so long as you’re nicely turned out, no one is going to care at all about your shoes, especially if you’re wearing a maxi dress!

Which makes me even more annoyed I bought shoes I probably won’t wear again Hmm

FizzyGreenWater · 27/06/2019 14:46

They're fine.

Nobody will look twice at them!

It's a nice white too, they look expensive.

I think they contrast fine and I certainly wouldn't change if it meant a hassle.

floribunda18 · 27/06/2019 15:01

They are both lovely and you will look great, as long as your feet are ok.

Literally no-one will notice though, no-one cares what you are wearing, as long as you feel comfortable in it is what counts.

Smokesandeats · 27/06/2019 15:13

The teal clutch will look lovely with the dress and shoes. Have you got a light or bright lipstick to wear?

isseywithcats · 27/06/2019 15:38

to be quite honest evryone will be so busy admiring the bride, complimenting the bridesmaids, eating drinking and socialising i doubt very much wether anyone will notice what shoes you are wearing, my second wedding i wore trainers under my wedding dress for comfort and no one noticed them
